  • 1630 Whitney Ave. Hamden, CT - Spring Glen
Today I saw a police car (one of the SUVs) pull up beside me at a red light. The officer stopped for a second, looked around and drove straight through the red light. They had no emergency lights flashing and they were driving rather slowly. I caught up with the car eventually on the same street and they still had no lights flashing. Obviously, this officer was not off to an emergency, but rather chose to abuse their power.
  • 41 Brookside Drive - Spring Glen
this was first reported to Hamden six or seven years ago. in the winter it forms a frozen over @#$% that backs my whole front walkbturning into a vrry hazardous walk that is impossible tl clear unless there is a big thaw
  • 330-472 Putnam Ave Hamden, CT 06517, USA - Hamden
To enable cyclists to access the Farmington Canal, shopping centers, and the family neighborhoods in this area, I propose putting in bicycle lanes on Putnam Ave. between Whitney Ave. and Dixwell.
  • Hartford Turnpike And Davis Street Hamden/New Haven, CT - Hamden
The overgrown hedges before the first stretch of sidewalk compromise the safety of runners who face oncoming cars, knowing that they are not visible to drivers through the bushes and shrubs which extend into the roadway.
  • 100 Town Walk Drive hamden, CT - Hamden
When Exiting Town Walk Drive and taking a left turn at the Intersection of Town Walk Drive and Hamden Hills Drive, the driver has no warning of oncoming traffic. When I look right for traffic the cars come down the hill so fast there is no warning and I have to floor the gas to prevent accidents. I believe a mirror displayed on a telephone pole/street light might prevent an accident here and help drivers observe oncoming traffic.

My wife and I are homeowners here in Hamden, it will be four years
in August. It has been a wonderful experience for us and our two sons.
Our neighbors are wonderful and Hamden's community activities have
been a refreshing option for our children. However, as you know, no
town is perfect. Roads needs to be fix, the schools could be improved,
and who and what kind of businesses that are approved, should be
monitored more closely; nevertheless, my most pressing issue doesn't
involve any of those things. I live at 5 Furman Road, which is at the
corner of Furman and Thomas Street. Thomas St. has become a haven for
speeding dirt bikes, motorcycles, and many times kids from Southern in
cars racing through. Until recently, the police were rarely seen.
Lately, my wife and I have notice more of a police presence, but
naturally they can't see everyone. Our two boys are 13 and 4, and they
play a lot in our backyard. My biggest fear is one of them being
struck by a speeding car or motorcycle. Additionally, the perception
that our section of town has, may erode if this isn't addressed. The problem could be fixed easily with a posted radar machine or a more consistent police presence. Let everyone know that Hamden does not tolerate speeding.
  • 3 Davis St CT 06517 - Hamden

For the past few months left lane drivers on Whitney, going towards New Haven, sitting at the red light, have started flooring it across the intersection to beat traffic when the light turns green...taking a left onto Davis. Honking horns and angry drivers are the result. This happens 90% of the time I stop at that light which is a minimum of twice a day.

With a day-school entrance at that intersection there will be a pile-up or worse one day if something is not done to make people start obeying the signals.

SUGGESTION: The Hamden police need to station an unmarked car and ticket every single car that does this for "failure to yield right of way".

2210 Dixwell Ave Hamden, CT 06514 - Hamden
There are no bicycle racks at the Walmart, or at most of the other stores on this shopping plaza, despite the fact that it is a major destination for regional shopping. Anyone know who manages Hamden Plaza?
  • 220 Waite St Hamden, CT 06517, USA - Spring Glen
There are no sidewalks on this stretch of Waite Street used by children, dog owners, and athletes going to Bassett Park and the dog park. Also the sidewalks along Bassett Park have no curb, which encourages baseball players to park in a CLEARLY marked no parking area, forcing pedestrians- again, many of whom are children- to walk in the middle of Waite Street.
  • 1126 Dixwell Ave Hamden, CT 06514, USA - Hamden
Hand to hand drug sales at the Hess gas station
  • 40 Waite Street Hamden, CT 06514, USA - Spring Glen

    where do I begin.....

    - Lawn never gets mowed (yes I mean never)
    - Silver metallic tarp that acts as a garage door
    - windows broken
    - front door pulled off it's hinges and propped up against the opening.
    - Overgrown shrubs on the corner of Coram and Waite that make pulling out of Coram St dangerous.

Just when you think this house can't look any worse it does. The house is an eye sore and looks abandoned. Now with the front door proped up against the house I believe it to be a safety issue. If you want to live like a hillbilly you should live in the woods somewhere. Not in a Spring Glen neighborhood.

  • 217 Haverford St Hamden, CT 06517, USA - Spring Glen
This intersection needs a traffic light. An ambulance and MANY other car accidents happen in this intersection. People blow right through the stop sign and hit traffic going down ridge road. When you do stop at the stop sign, the trees lined up the street between the sidewalk and street block your view of oncoming traffic. At that point you need to pull forward until you are "in" ridge road where you can and will be hit by another car.
We need to do SOMETHING to fix this intersection!
