There is no reason to post a "No Turn On Red" sign for east-bound Electric Blvd. traffic at all . . . let alone 24/7. Please, give us a break!

A majority of drivers do not yield at crosswalks to allow for waiting pedestrians / students to cross. While signage is present at all designated crosswalks, drivers consistently do not yield. The only time I have witnessed compliance is when the school bus driver sets the example to the opposite lane of traffic.

IMHO this is a driver education issue. Can the city / school district used their combined communication tools to remind drivers of crosswalk laws?

The transformer atop the utility pole in the tree lawn at 747 Jaycox hums so loud residents can hear it in their back yards. As of 9/23/2012 the transformer still loud and annoying as ever. Guess since the noise affects only a couple households it's cheaper to ignore. The vibrating coils inside these transformers are submerged in an oily fluid that both cools the coils and dampens the noise. Years of industrial electrical training tells me the transformer is probably low on fluid and running hotter than it should be. Eventually the sparks will fly and depending on who's nearby when it ultimately blows liability could be a problem particularly if the transformer contains PCBs (A banned carcinogen that was once widely used inside transformers such as these). But it seems rolling the dice and doing nothing is the preferred method of "managing" the situation. Nice comfy feeling that.
