Sinkhole developing on street near storm drain. Probably about 2" depth at the moment, but appears to be worsening.
  • 3157 Barbour Dr Virginia Beach, VA, 23456, USA - Virginia Beach city
The open culvert storm drain behind the properties along 3157 - 3169 has had standing, stagnant water sitting in there for several months. A previous ticket was submitted and it was marked closed but the issue remains. It is clogged still. Downstream of the home at 3157 Barbour, there is a necking/chokepoint for the drain where it transitions to a smaller area and winds to a pond. There is a lot of debris that needs to be cleared out and realistically redesigned/regraded for it to flow freely without constant maintenance.

Heading westbound on Indian River Road at Elbow Road intersection, the left turn signal is not timed properly or sensor is malfunctioning. It is stacking up traffic on Indian River Road immensely every morning. This complaint has been repeatedly made but ignored by traffic engineer/PW.

Traffic Light At Intersection Of Indian River And Elbow Roads Virginia Beach, Virginia - Virginia Beach city
The traffic light at Indian River and Elbow Road has been on a timer setting since the N. Landing Bridge was closed/under repair. This is causing a long backup of traffic going northbound on Indian River road during the morning commute. Please activate the motion cameras to detect traffic and corresponding traffic signal.
  • 2551 Princess Anne Road Virginia Beach, Virginia - Virginia Beach city
Going southbound on Nimmo Pkwy on the right lane after you pass the Princess Anne Rd intersection, the brick crosswalk area has caved in quite a bit probably due to poor compaction of the underlying soil/sand. It's quite significant and will eventually do noticeable damage to someone's wheel, axle, and/or rims. It was previously reported

  • 3165 Barbour Drive Virginia Beach, Virginia - Virginia Beach city
The stormwater drain ditch behind all properties along Barbour Drive (i.e. 3157, 3161, 3165, etc) is clogged. Beyond 3165 Barbour Drive there is a change in (lower) elevation and a narrow curve which is no longer a concrete structure but arbitrarily laid out with gabian rocks which is constantly trapping the slightest debris (because of the angular edges) and causing a clog. This causes an issue every rainfall and gets reclogged even after it is "cleared". This curved rocky area needs to be reconstructed otherwise it will continue to clog on a regular basis as it has for the last 15+ years. Please do not just send a crew to clip the overhanging tree branches because it doesn't solve the problem (and they barely drag the dead limbs on the slope where it can slide right back in the ditch). The curved area needs to be re-designed by a civil engineer and reconstructed.

2551 Princess Anne Rd Virginia Beach, VA 23456, USA - Virginia Beach city
The brick crosswalk (right lane) closest to retention pond side at intersection has settled at dtfft spots due to subbase or base material failing causing ripples in the crosswalk. It will eventually damage tires and/or axles if it further deteriorates.

3493 Indian River Road Virginia Beach, Virginia - Virginia Beach city
As you traverse N/NW on Indian River Road (in the direction of Elbow Road) from the North Landing Road intersection all the way to the Horse Farm on the right hand side, there are a number of potholes (over a dozen?) in the travel lane. Some are more than 12 inches wide and an inch deep. These appeared during the winter/snowstorms and have progressively become worse over time. As drivers try to avoid them, sometimes they have to cross the double solid lines since there is no shoulder on that road and it's only one lane each way which becomes a safety hazard for everyone.
  • 1800 Princess Anne Road Virginia Beach, Virginia - Virginia Beach city
At the intersection of Princess Anne and Indian River, there is a deep pothole next to the grated storm drain in the travel lane. Needs to be fixed asap as it appears to be widening/deepening and will do damage to tires and suspension systems.
  • 3141 Barbour Drive Virginia Beach, Virginia - Virginia Beach city
Clogged storwater drainage ditch behind homes along 3157 & 3161 Barbour Drive in the Lancaster Village of Courthouse Estates. The blockage is downstream of 3157 Barbour Drive and again clogged by runoff debris and organic material. This is a recurring problem that was last addressed in March 2016 (Issue ID: 2089296, Service Request ID: 91444991) and again in Dec 2016 with the assistance of Mr. Davenport after no action was previously taken. It is a public safety and health issue particularly with mosquitos breeding rapidly from the warmer temperatures. Need a crew to come clear the debris and really rework the necking point (removing the large stones and widening the opening) as it clogs every few months.
  • 1996 South Independence Boulevard Virginia Beach, Virginia - Virginia Beach city
Heading southbound on S. Independence Blvd just before the Lynnhaven Pkwy intersection, the storm drain on the right side is extremely clogged with trash and debris. During heavy rain, it'll cause significant flooding on the roadway and cause unsafe driving conditions.

As you traverse Indian River Road towards I64 ramp (from where it intersects Kempsville Rd all the way to Centerville Turnpike) the traffic light signals along it need to be resynched to allow a smoother flow of traffic. Currently they are out of cycle and are causing significant backups and queues.

As you travel N/NW on Indian River Road (towards the Interstate), immediately after the traffic light at the Elbow Road Intersection when you make that left turn, there's a sizable pothole on the travel lane. It's been there now for weeks and needs to be repaired as it will only get bigger/deeper.
