  • 1 West Ave. At Church St. Saratoga Springs, New York - Saratoga Springs
Eastbound traffic at the intersection of West Ave. & Church St. who are turning right onto West. Ave. are turning whilst the traffic light is still RED and at the same time pedestrians have the CROSS light on. Drivers are not looking to see if pedestrians are waiting to cross or are crossing, same goes for traffic Northbound on West Ave. intending to turn right onto Church St. Eastbound. Frequently tractor trailers are making these turns with no regard for pedestrians. Something needs to be done at this intersection to ensure pedestrian safety. This is NOT my first complaint about pedestrian safety at this intersection.
  • 3070 Highway 50 (Wilton Mall To Shoppes @ Wilton) Saratoga Springs, New York - Saratoga Springs
The crosswalk light on the side of Route 50 near Best Buy does not change to Walk EVER. It has been this way since December 2013. It does not allow pedestrians a safe crossing of the road.
  • 362 Church Street Saratoga Springs, New York - Saratoga Springs
Every time we are waiting at Church St. & Allen Drive for oncoming (eastbound) traffic to clear so we can turn on to Allen Drive there are at least 4 people who think it's ok to zoom right past us on the right side of us just because there is a little extra space next to the road from the driveway that goes to Sunnyside Gardens. This is illegal passing on the right. The cops are never around to watch this, they just park their plate reader patrol car on Allen Drive facing Church St. during slow non-peak times of the day and never see this happening. It primarily happens during AM School Bus Runs / Rush Hours and Afternoon-Evening School Bus Runs/Rush Hours. Due to the speed limit change about 200ft before this intersection people are whizzing by at 45MPH or more and it rocks our vehicle when they do their illegal passing on our right side. There are a lot of people who walk and bike up and down this section of road and could be hurt or killed by these uncaring drivers who are just in a hurry to somewhere (possibly to get to their next car accident).
  • From West Ave. Heading East On Grand Ave. Washington St. (Rte. 29 West) and Church St. (Rte. 9N), Saratoga Springs, NY - Saratoga Springs
The following roads in the city and bordering the City of Saratoga Springs desperately need sidewalks so that pedestrians, bicyclists and runners can travel along these roads safely. There are limited or no sidewalks along the following streets from West Ave. heading Westward toward Greenfield: Grand Ave., Washington St. (Rte. 29 West), and Church St. (Rte. 9N). On a daily basis I see many people traveling at least one of not more of these routes and they are not safe because they either have to walk on lawns or road shoulders which are very narrow in many places. There is very little to no street lighting in these areas to help those on foot or bicycle be seen by automobile drivers. Just because most people have a car does not mean everyone does. Some people like to walk/bicycle while some have no choice but to walk/bicycle as a method of travel. The last thing we need is someone to get killed like the bicyclist over the summer of 2013 who was killed on Rte. 29 East/ Lake Ave. or the pedestrian killed on 11/30/13 who was walking in broad daylight along Rte. 29 in Milton. There are no excuses for not providing safe methods of travel for people who do not drive.
  • 1 Station Lane Saratoga Springs, NY - Saratoga Springs
CDTA, PLEASE turn down the volume of your Public Address System at the Saratoga Springs Train Station. I live over 300 yards away and should NOT be awakened by the National Anthem every day. My neighbors agree and have complained here http://seeclickfix.com/issues/769132-loud-bugling-national-anthem-playing-in-early-morning. There is NO excuse for your public address system being heard over 300 yards away. Please resolve this issue before I have to call City Hall.
  • 16 Tait Lane Saratoga Springs, NY - Saratoga Springs
What's with the fireworks every Fri & Sat coming from 16 Tait Lane? I know they are NOT authorized since it is in a residential neighborhood. They are going off now at 9:15PM August 3, 2013. I am sick and tired of this crap. It scares the hell out of my pets and I can't sleep since I have to get up very early. I called the police and they have no clue. 16 Tait Lane is supposed to be a vacant piece of property that is over grown with brush. I live within 100 yards of it.
  • 12 Allen Drive To 45 Allen Drive Saratoga Springs, New York - Saratoga Springs

There are 2 issues in which I wish to address. Issue # 1) Parking in the streets: There are no signs about parking but the street is not wide enough for people to be parking in the streets especially when all properties on Allen Drive have their own off-street parking spaces. The Blue PT Cruiser Convertible and the Blue 1970's Chevy Pick Up Truck are always parked on the corners so when you turn right or left on to Allen Drive from Kirby Rd these 2 vehicles if not more are in your way as you turn and they block your view of the street so you can't see if traffic is coming or if there are any pedestrians in the road. Primarily the tenants of the first 6 buildings on Allen Drive (counting both sides of the street) are parking along in the street alongside the properties in which they live although as I have mentioned their apartments come with off-street parking. They do this all through the winter too which causes difficulty for the plows to clear the streets safely. I would like to see them stop parking there as well as at the curve in the road at 32-34 Allen Drive.

Issue # 2) Speeding on Allen Drive. I know the speed limit on this road is 30MPH but we have a playground on the end near Church St. as well as many children living along the entire road. We have 1 Children at Play sign on the end of the road near Kirby Rd . but it was installed so very high on the pole only a Tractor-Trailer driver can see it. There is nothing on the Church St. end advising drivers of children at play or the playground. I suggest the speed limit along this entire road be lowered from 30MPH To 15 or 20MPH and a playground ahead sign be install as you enter the road from Church St. and again along the road coming from the Kirby Rd. end just before you reach the curve in the road. We also have many senors living on the Kirby Rd. end and I think it would be much safer for them as well if the speed limit was lowered . A road curved ahead sign on both sides of the curve in the road would be great to since there are not many street lights and you can't see from afar that the road curves.

  • Washington St @ Amtrak Overpass Saratoga Springs, NY - Saratoga Springs
To whomever hit and killed the 3 month old Kitten at this location. You need to take responsibility for your actions. You hit and killed a 3 month old White and Orange kitten no bigger than an 8.5" x 10" piece pf paper and you and other drivers continued to run over the poor thing squishing it's head. I would post the pictures I took but that may be considered offensive to some. I removed the kitten's body from the center of the East Bound Lane and put it on the side of the road. It made me sick to my stomach seeing so many people drive over the poor animal. This happened on 10/28/2011 between Noon and 4PM. This may have been someone's pet.
  • City Of Saratoga Springs And County Of Saratoga Ny Saratoga Springs, NY - Saratoga Springs
All storm drains within the city and county need to be cleared prior to SANDY the storm's arrival on Tuesday 10/30/2012. If not then we will see massive street flooding and possible damage to low lying homes.
  • 257 Caroline St Saratoga Springs, NY - Saratoga Springs
The street sign @ Caroline St. & East Ave. near the East Side Rec. is missing and has been since about 2 weeks into the 2012 Saratoga Race Course Meet.
  • 352 Church St. (From Allen Drive To West Ave) Saratoga Springs, NY - Saratoga Springs
This section of road look disgusting with all the trash, dead animals and broken car parts. Also this section of road does not get the weeds trimmed often so it makes it look even more unappealing. Just because it is past West Ave. does not mean it should be ignored. Frequently anything West. of West. Ave. is ignored and not really considered part of the city but it should be as it is still within the city limits.
  • 1-2 West Ave Saratoga Springs, NY - Saratoga Springs
95% of traffic in this intersection are doing illegal right turns while the traffic light is RED. This is causing issue with traffic flow and it is preventing pedestrians from crossing safely. Cars see that the light is red and that the pedestrian have the right of way to cross but ignore it and rev right through the red lights from Rte. 9N heading onto West Ave. Southbound and From West Ave. on to Church St. Eastbound. It happens at least 5 times or more per minutes from 7AM to 8PM. I am afraid someone will rush the light and hit me as I cross the street from 1 West Ave. to get to the other side of the street to catch the bus. Commercial trucks as well as passenger vehicles are doing it. There are no traffic cameras installed at this location and the cross walk lights are never functioning correctly as well. If the PS Commish is so concerned about safety on the West side of the city I don't see why he isn't dealing with this issue over the Glenmore issue. Does someone have to get killed before something happens here. The traffic lights are not organized well here. You need lights with arrows for each specific direction as drivers assume that any color or style light means they can just keep going as they please.Don't do a functionality study, just use common sense to fix the issue. I am not an engineer but I can tell you how to fix it in less than 5 minutes and I won't charge you or the city a dime.
  • State Highway 9 From Old Post Rd. To Kaydeross Ave Ballston Spa / Saratoga Springs, NY - Saratoga County

This section of road has very little/poor lighting and has been the scene of 4 FATAL automobile and pedestrian accidents in the past 2 1/2 years. Drivers can't see pedestrians and pedestrians are not wearing safe colored clothing. Something needs to be done about the speed of the cars traveling through here and the lack of lighting that would allow drivers to see the road and their surroundings better.

  • 290 West Ave. Saratoga Springs, NY - Saratoga Springs
People in the area of the YMCA from Congress Ave. to Rte. 50 are driving at speeds of at least 50MPH and this is not safe due to people turning in the the YMCA and then there is a cure in the road between Newark & Albany Streets. People who are turning into the YMCA's West Ave. Entrance tend to not slow down until they are already into the YMCA's parking lot. They also refuse to turn on their turn signals in advance so drivers know they are turning and can give them the necessary space to do so. People are either not using turn signals or they just turn it on for 2 seconds while they are in the middle of the turn. I am not sure of the exact distance required by law for activation of a turn signal but I do know that turning it on when you get to your turn or while you are already in the middle of the turn are illegal and unsafe. I lived across from the property that is now the YMCA from 1977 to 1986 and there has always been a speeding problem on this section of the road. At one time a drunk driver was speeding down the road and crashed into my parent's fence that had just been built. That was back in 1981 but it shows you that 30 years later people are still driving unsafely and inconsiderately. I say drop the speed limit to 15MPH from Congress Ave. To Newark St. This would also make it safer fro students walking from the High School to the YMCA. I don't even think there is a SCHOOL ZONE in effect in the area of the High School. As the West Avenue area of the city grows it draws more people who just don't give a @#$% about others and are in a hurry, They are late for their next accident. I say no more studies by the City Engineer or others, just do something about the problem and don't waste tax payer's money.
  • 1-2 West Avenue Saratoga Springs, NY - Saratoga Springs
Crosswalk light and buttons are non-functional at 1-2 West Ave. and also have large bees nests stuck to them for the past 2 years. DPW never fixes anything on the West side of the City.
  • Union Avenue At Henning Road Saratoga Springs, NY - Saratoga Springs
Traffic turning left onto Henning Rd from The Track Area of Union Ave. going towards Saratoga Lake has a turn lane but no designated traffic signal so you have to wait for all the cars to go by before you turn, the same goes for those vehichels coming from Saratoga Lake looking to turn into Yaddo. There are 3 lanes and 2 traffic signals for those lanes. A traffic signal with only left arrows needs to be placed at this interesction in front of the turn lanes. Throughout the city of Saratoga Springs I see stupid and ridiculous traffic signal set ups. This is one of them. Another one is West Avenue at Church St. there are 2 solid colored traffic lights where there should be one signal with only left arrows and one solid which would make taking a left turn onto West Ave. from Church St. much safer since oncoming traffic does not always give you an opportunity to turn. Traffic signal with just arrows should be placed at all major turn lanes throughout the city to make driving safer. I realize that it may be a money issue for the city so why not just get a cover that goes over current lights that would have an arrow cut out of it to only show light in the shape of an arrow in the direction you need rather than buy brand new lights. I am sure there is something out there like I described to turn a solid light into a turn arrow light for less than the cost of a new light.
  • Middle Grove Road Greenfiled Center, NY - Saratoga County
I am not sure what is going on in this area but it appears that it needs to be investigated. In the past few months I have heard of multiple auto accidents and auto-related deaths on this road. Just last night a woman was killed on this road after crashing her car related to excessive speed. Two of her passengers had to be air-lifted to Albany Medical Center. Something needs to happen to save lives and prevent more accidents. There is no need for auto accidents and deaths to occur constantly on this road. I think the NY State Police, Saratoga County Sheriff, and Greenfield Town officials need to find out what is going on and do something to resolve it. Even if it means putting a police radar trap out there or to increase police patrols of that area. These accidents and deaths have to stop now.
  • 189 Church St Saratoga Springs, NY 12866, USA - Saratoga Springs
The man hole cover is to far below the road surface at Church St. (Westbound Lane) @ Seward St. Cars pass over it and it's as bad as if they just went through a pot hole. It can cause some serious damage to vehicles. This particular type of problem is popping up all over the city. Eithe the man holes are to far above grade or below. Either way it's dangerous and they all need to be fixed. If you see a man hole ocver that is to low or to high please report it on SeeClickFix.com so we can get our City Leadership off their butts and actually trying to fix something in this city rather than sitting in their offices BSing the public.
  • 67 Van Dam St Saratoga Springs, NY 12866, USA - Saratoga Springs

The sidewalk at the curb where you take a right from Van Dam St. on to Clinton St. is craked badly and falling apart. I stood on the curb today and it started to sink. The break is at least 4 foot wide by 4 foot long. It appears that either it was hit by a plow or heavy vehicles have repeatedly been driving over the curb and onto the sidewalk. This is a SAFETY issue for DPW Commisioner Skippy and crew to fix NOW, not the home owner. CURB NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND INCLUDE UPDATED WHEELCHAIR CURB CUTS. ALSO DO THE SAME THING TO THE INTERESCTION OF VAN DAM ST. & LAWRENCE ST. BY THE 2 STORY BRICK HOUSE, That sidewalk is almost as bad and has a very long crack from one side to the other.

While you are at it make the home owners of 69 & 73 Van Dam St. fix that sidewalk that is broken with pieces jutting upwards. It's got to be caused by the roots of that big tree out front. It's a MAJOR trip hazard and is currently filled with MUD.

  • 10-98 W Fenlon St Saratoga Springs, NY 12866, USA - Saratoga Springs
This interesction's roadway is desinigrating in the crosswalk area where West Fenlon meets South Broadway. Chunks of roadway are scattered all over and could be thrown into the air by moving vehicles and hit other vehicles. This city has some very bad & serious pot hole issues and DPW is not adressing them promptly. The weather has been warm enough for pot hole repair. Commisioner Skip needs to get his crew moving on this issue NOW. No more bureaucratic garbage or excuses. GET-ER-DONE.
