The construction of The City's TSPLOST Project 108 will start Jan-Feb ‘24 or ASAP, lasting nine (9) months, to straddle two (2) school years, and will not include any road closures, per The Department of Public Works’ TS-108 Project Manager.

Was wondering what and when the construction timeline and the planned traffic detours and signage, plus slow-down and delay warnings, will be widely communicated to the public. TS-108’s construction will surely, at times, significantly impact all North Riverside-Dalrymple-Brandon Mill traffic and the nearby surrounding area, particularly for schoolbuses and commercial trucks duringthe dark morning and evening rush hours. As much advanced public notificatio , as possible, of such matters would be greatly appreciated for th boths safety and futur travel purposes.h

Additionally, TS-108 will eliminate the current, single, left-turn lane’s yield, flashing-yellow, “protected-permissive” signal. The two dual left-turn signals, however, will be “protected-prohibited”, meaning no more turning on “flashing yellow”, after yielding Seems that having two left-turn lanes on Dalrymple could cause noticeable delays during lower-than-peak-hour.s

The GA400 exiting right lane, onto Abernathy westbound towards Sandy Springs, drivers only realize that after the underpass, this right lane directly leads only to a right turn onto Glenlake Parkway, towards UPS HDQTRS!! This is INSANE!!

Again, with no clear...ZERO!!.....prior signage of this rightane ng directly of GA400, leadionly ds to Glenlake kwayPar (not to Abernathy, as one would obviously assume) is CRAZY, CRAZY, CRA

Please fix by allowing a lane change, back to Abernathy westbound, well before approaching Glenlake Parkway. This is clearly an ill-conceived accommodation for corporate offices on GlenlakeZY!

The Abernathy DDI's eastbound, LEFT LANE, approaching the GA/400 overpass, has terribly inadequate signage for it's North GA/400 ONLY EXITING, towards Alpharetta, etc.. All three lanes need very large, clear overhead signage well back before the dark, unlit overpass. Otherwise, sudden, panicked lane-changing seems inevitable.

Dangerous deficiencies in the lack of clear, viewable white roadway stripings and yellow raised roadway dividing reflective permanent markers (rpm's) for this Dalrymple-Roswell Road intersection. Clearer eastbound lanes would help drivers to properly cue for clearing the intersection or taking a right turn.
Having each available lane properly striped nearer to Princeton Square's entrance would allow longer stacking cues.

Around 8:30 am, Wednesday, August 15th, we were stuck in a one(1)-mile, twenty(20)-minute rush-hour backup of cars, school buses, and pickups (many pulling cargo trailers) on Dalrymple Road, heading east towards Roswell Road and North Springs Charter High School. (Photo)
Upon returning, we observed that during tise morning rush hou, only 15%-to-33% of the intersection’s eastbound Dalrymple traffic isactually using the left-turn lane to turn and head north onto Roswell Road. The majority of such vehicles remain headed east, towards Spalding Drive and, presumably, Dunwoody. (Photo)

Clearly, tThis isbackup problem is most acute just prior to NSCHS’smorning start-of-school hour
    .

One feasible easy fix would bto time e a much, much long, straight-through g Gre light for many more vehicles to either cross over or turn right onto s Roswell Road duri the highest of morning rush hour times.

An additional left-turn lane, as planned by The City's Project TS-108's, for $2.8 million, may provide a low benefit to such costs and add safety concerns.s.

Despite the recent re-paving & re-striping of Riverside Drive North, this newly paved area of asphalt is starting to crack and separate. An immediate cause for concern and attention before potholes develop. Heavy commercial truck traffic (including 18-wheelers), on this cut-through secondary arterial route to the Johnny Isakson Bridge and Cobb County, may be a major contributing factor. Let's hope Public Works has a good preemptive solution to thid issue7

Two roadway Manhole Covers, located over the Riverside Drive North sewer line, loudly rattle, clank, and bounce a bit each time a vehicle runs over them on this very, very busy residential secondary artery. The troubling noises are both a bothersome nuisance to sleeping neighbors but, more so, they could easily lead to dangerous vehicular hazards, if either manhole cover becomes broken or dislodged. Please fix these two manhole covers by applying the appropriate rubberized product to reduce the high-volume traffic stress being placed on these two Riverside Drive North manhole covers.

The expansive, lane-widening Project TS-108, set for 2023, that is designed for the corner of Dalrymple Road and Roswell Road, will dangerously impact the street-level safety of pedestrians, MARTA-riding North Spring Charter High School students, and bikers at that corner. Plus, it will greatly increase the traffic of heavy, speeding, commercial trucks (including numerous 18-wheelers!!) that are using the Dalrymple Road-Riverside Drive route as a shortened, speedy cut-through to Cobb County at Johnson Ferry.

Traffic-calming would be more favorably impacted by simply adding full traffic signals at the increasingly dangerous intersections of Dalrymple Road and Brandon Mill Road (at The Lost Corner Preserve) and of Dalrymple Road and Princeton Way (already with a flashing 'Vehicle Approaching" yellow light signal).

This Project TS-108 needs to be halted and more carefully evaluated as to it's hugely negative impact on citizen safety that will be caused by it's significantly increasing dangerous, speeding, commercial, cut-through truck traffic along the Dalrymple-Riverside route to Johnson Ferry Road.

Car, pedestrian, bicyclist, and student school bus safety are all being greatly compromised along both Riverside Drive, north of Johnson Ferry, and Dalrymple Road to Roswell Road, due to the increasingly high volume of high-speed truck traffic. In the last six months, by first-hand, personal observation, numerous commercial trucks (up to 18-wheelers) have been seen hauling beverages, petroleum, automobiles, and more.

While Sandy Springs doesn't have a legal "No Truck" ordinance, at a minimum, all existing signage on increasingly hazardous, high truck volume routes, like Riverside Drive North, needs to be upgraded in size and impact, as shown, as recently has been done on Riverside Drive South.

    The uploaded image shows:
    A. Upgraded "No Truck" signage (at left) in 6500 block of Riverside Drive
    B. Existing "No Truck" signage (similar to that at right) at:
