Bad odor from drainage canal and into (private) drainage under The Grove Community. We've had the stormwater drain jet-cleaned and inspected in The Grove - no problems found. Have found that the odor seems to be coming from the canal, probably because the point where water enters the canal is backed up with soil and accumulation of algae, etc. The odor may also be coming from the culvert under 49th St at that curve (where pic was taken). That odor travels all the way to the retention pond behind my house and interferes with the use of my property. That public, County-maintained area needs to be cleaned or dredged to prevent the odor.
Please contact me by email for further info. I would be happy to meet you there. Thank you.

    1. The culvert under the entry road to The Grove at Beekman Place is clogged; consequently, rainwater backs up in the drainage ditch along 49th St. and partially floods the street. That water also backs up into the yards of homes along the south side of 49th St. Additionally, the water sits at the base of the new fence that The Grove had installed within the last year, risking its integrity.

    2. The drainage ditch referenced above no longer drains properly due to silt build-up. The entire run of that ditch needs to be "dredged" to facilitate the flow of water.
