McDonald Garden Center on First Colonial at Great Neck. Garden Center's plantings badly overgrowing sidewalk and narrowing pathway. Needs trimming back or dividing!

Along First Colonial between Paramore and Great Neck. Poison ivy vines hanging in sidewalk path. beautiful to look at, treacherous to try to pass through on mobility scooter.
These grow back every year. if you can, please put them on a regular schedule to get rid of them.

The sidewalks on FC Road between GN Road and Paramore Drive is in fire need of maintenance!!!!!
Some portions are almost impassable because of poison ivy hanging down and dirt, leaves, pine needles narrowing the sidewalk. People do, in fact, use this sidewalk. But I have observed walkers stepping into the road to avoid this mess. Bikers hunch down as far as they can to avoid the poison ivy. And I, on my mobility scooter, both hunch down and carry a cardboard "shield" to protect myself from the debris.
This really needs a clean up!!

1108 First Colonial Road Virginia Beach, VA 23454, USA - Northeast
South east side of First Colonial road. South side of entrance to first colonial family practice and north of parking lot entrance for psych center. large light pole (no number on pole) one one side and 2 small green utility boxes on the other. 2 sections of sidewalk are badly sunken about 2.5 inches. my mobility scooter hits the pavement as it goes into this hole and jars my back badly, and the barely climbs the other side , again scrapping on the pavement. very easy for pedestrians to stumble here. also hazardous to bicyclists.

First Colonial High School on Mill Dam Road Jas no sidewalk to pass the school on either side of mill dam road.
voices are to go past on the busy road or to use the bus turn around.
so it is unsafe either for the sidewalk users having to use the road. or it is unsafe for the students because strangers mist come onto school property to be safe

sidewalk is very close to a gorgeous old tree on North side of northernmost entrance to Cape Henry Collegiate on Mill Dam Road. the tree root has raised the sidewalk on one side and now the sidewalk is starting to break up.
It was treacherous before. and now pedestrians an bicyclists avoid it. Being on a mobility scooter I have little choice in my path choices.
I would like to see a solution that will not harm the tree! perhaps a short piece of large cement pipe cut in half to form an arch over the root and then sidewalk gets a small hill over it...
Whatever the solution, please make it safer for citizens to traverse!

Sidewalk is in desperate need of repair!

    Google Maps Link: https://goo.gl/maps/uB1mhA9iYqD2

One slab is so extremely tilted that it almost forms a hole in the sidewalk. Very hazardous!

There is always someone moving down that sidewalk. Many are senior citizens and disabled people from Silver Hill next door. This is definitely an ankle turning and bad fall hazard!

Sidewalk blocked by traffic light pole...

    Google Maps Link: https://goo.gl/maps/UCXiht5FQR62

The pole needs to be moved to the grassy side of the sidewalk for a clear pathway for sidewalk traffic especially mobility scooter users. Alternatively, additional sidewalk can be laid so one can travel around the pole.

The only path now is to move onto soft ground to circumvent this hazard! My mobility scooter can't traverse the soft ground with the grass manicured to a height higher than my ground clearance of 4 inches.

(In my included photo the height difference of the ground and grass and the sidewalk can be seen, as well as there being not enough space for a mobility device to fit between the base of the pole and the edge of the sidewalk.)

    Storm drain cover ....

    Google Maps Link: https://goo.gl/maps/AtCzSZeWKmE2

Cement around storm drain cover is quite a bit higher than the sidewalk. This cement piece takes up all but a small amount of the sidewalk and the height difference is large. My mobility scooter cannot go over this hazard because of the height difference. I must try to navigate my mobility scooter around the obstruction, which means travelling from the hard sidewalk to very soft ground. (There is hardly room for a bicycle tire between the hazard and the edge of the sidewalk.)

On May 1, 2017 I attempted to travel this part of the sidewalk. My mobility scooter fell over and onto me. If my husband had not been there to help me, I would have been only able to lay there until help came for me - and right across the street from VB General hospital!

Please, please, PLEASE repair this hazard!!!

Where the road meets the sidewalk on the side closest to Cape Henry Collegiate...
There is a HUGE difference in height between the tarmac and the concrete.

    Google Map Link: https://goo.gl/maps/vVoErcZwqcL2

I use a mobility scooter up and down Mill Dam Road. My scooter cannot traverse this "bump" because of the height difference (I have a 4 inch ground clearance). I must travel up the road and cross back to the sidewalk over very soft grass covered ground at this spot in order to bypass the "bump". This is a definite safety issue!!

There are MANY issues with the sidewalk/bike paths and business/school entrances on Mill Dam, Great Neck, and First Colonial!
