The median along Pitts School Rd at US-29 was installed due to a major safety issue. The high volume of traffic along Pitts School Rd and inbound from US-29 and the fact that vehicle were entering the approaching lanes to turn left into developments produced high number of head on collisions. All of the business' were informed of the modification way in advance of the changes. Also, alternate routes were planned and implemented prior to the installation of the concrete medians. Additionally, the strip mall development on the Wallgreens side of Pitts School Rd has been permitted and is currently designing a left over movement to allow better access.
