The two blocks between Monterey St. and El Dorado on the north side of Curtola Parkway are residential. Drivers, just off the freeway a mile previously, have absolutely no sense that this is an area where caution should be used. People need to parallel park and children are playing. I have only lived here a little over a month and have had things thrown at me and been honked at and cursed at for merely pulling as quickly as is safe into a parking spot. While that is extremely frustrating, what really concerns me is that children play on the sidewalk. If a child were to trip, they could easily be run over by a car going 50+ mph.
I recommend that the speed limit for these two blocks be reduced to 25mph and that the new sign have red lights upon it.
