If the registration is current they may not be able to tow it, because it's a public lot. I've seen similar situations over in the Walmart parking lot. Which, by the way, is filthy. Not sure why the mall owner is not held accountable for keeping the area clean. Throughout Hamden, businesses have trash lying around. Dixwell Avenue is terrible. For all the taxes we pay its a shame. No wonder people don't want to live here.

CGS Chapter 246, sec. 14-150 appears to say the vehicle can be towed after 24 hours and an $85 fine issued. My guess is that it will cost Hamden to have the vehicle towed and stored. No one wants to bother with this problem. It took years before the pickup truck in the same lot got moved. Since the lights were removed this lot has become a dumping ground. Very nice for people with electric vehicles who want to charge their cars.
