I was wanting to reopen Ticket 518590 as nothing has been done to this location since it was first reported. Now that the Public Nuisance deadline has come and gone, I would like to know how soon till this location will be cleaned up. While the owner continues to be delinquent, neighbors continue to have to deal with the drug use, litter, vermin, and inaccessibility to sidewalks located on their property.
Also, how many times must a location be reported before harsher action is taken? People have been reporting this location for over a year with no real response. Cleanup has only occurred after being reported and does not occur again until another report is filed.

I would like to receive information on what is being done about the trespassing and drug use at this property.
Additionally, since the abatement. Nothing has been done, and the grass and bushes are back to where they were and it has become a Public Nuisance again.

When a property is abated, the Public Works Department - Street Division schedules a time to do the necessary work ( cut grass and weeds, etc.) to bring the property into compliance and the owner is charged for the City having done so. A lien is placed against the property until the andministrative charges and fine have been paid. Housing & Environmental Inspections has to request permission from City Council to abate properties. It can be scheduled for abatement after City Council approves the request.
This can not be done before City Council approves the request.

Well, the City has already come out and cleaned up the property. Since then, the grass, bushes and trees surrounding the house have continued to grow, litter is still strewn across the property, and trespassing and drug use continue. Basically nothing has happened except the city has mowed the grass once.
That is why i'm reopening this case because the conditions are the same as they were the first time I reported this house.

The Raleigh Police Department - Downtown District has responded. Downtown District Officers have conducted numerous security checks at this location. These checks have resulted in charges for trespassing and misdemeanor drug offenses. Our officers will continue taking enforcement action.
If you witness suspicious activity at this location, please call 911 to notify the police.
This SCF issue was also reported on #518590 that has been archived. This response is for both numbers. Thanks!
