I live on the street and have been dealing with this situation since at least November 2017. Besides the domestic arguments/violence, squatting, urinating on the side of the house, mountains of trash, and numerous vehicles without plates, there also has been heavy drug activity. I no longer allow my children to play outside without my supervision.
Besides this specific property, the neighborhood is great, but action is long overdue. I also called Code Enforcement and they said there have been numerous calls, cases are already open, and a hearing is set for 7/26/18 at 9 AM. Here’s the funny part… do you think these squatters/drug dealers are actually going to show up? I literally walked into the Pembroke Pines Police Department yesterday, 6/25/18, to report drug activity and squatting I was basically turned away. They told me to call the bank who owns the house about the squatting because they’re the ones who need to make the complaint. As for the drug activity, they said there is NOTHING they can do and that I should call 911 if I see any activity happening in front of me.
For reasons unknown, Pembroke Pines Police are hesitant to take action.
