I recently visited Ashburn Virginia, a suburb to the Metro Washington Area. I was impressed with the cleanliness of their city streets compared to Raleigh. Please, lets get serious about improving the appearance of our city by doing the following: clean built up debris along the city curbline and gutters, clean the right of ways especially where the beggars gather at Capital/I-440 and the numerous other places throughout the city. City gutters are clogged with sand and storm water runoff. Have the local politicians go out and pickup their campaign signs including the current Mayor, or bill the candidates for the expense. Also, consider a program called "Adopt a City Street". Start running aggressive "Litter Campaigns on city television and advertising on city buses. Raleigh does not look like a top 5 best city to live in if we do not start holding people accountable and start removed debris from the city streets. I am sure everyone is aware of the New York City Police Department "Broken Windows' theory. If you allow situations to fester like abandoned litter those living in the area or observing litter concerns will only contribute to the problem. Thanks for listening to my concerns

I agree with you. Trash is out of control. So are the drivers most of which look like zombies with the mouth hung open staring at their phone. Problem is nobody gives a f*** anymore. People just walk down the sidewalk and throw their trash right on the ground or out the window of their car.
I agree trash needs to be cleaned up. But simply cleaning it up is only a temporary solution into we correct this horrible mindset of today's society.
