Please consider the attached illustration of changes to the Broadway & 8th Street intersection. Currently, 4 lanes of 8th St turn into 3 lanes when thru Broadway, then into 2 because one of them becomes a left turn lane, causing drivers not turning left on Washington to quickly merge right. The lane lines are often ignored or misread resulting in many bear accidents, and merging is not handled well by humans. Please make the following changes to the 8th Street lanes:
• Lane 1 - Left Turn Only
• Lanes 2 and 3 - Make theses lanes continue across Broadway, but connect to the lanes directly in front of them
• Lane 4 - Right Turn Only (Exempting buses that need to be allowed to continue on 8th)
