Also- the police are not supposed to tell you to call ACO on Monday, they are to address the problem and have ACO follow up! This is an ongoining problem in the PD, pretending to not be able to do anything.

The ACO will come out and address the issue with the "owners" and probably eventually will have to take the dogs away since these "owners" will most likely not do what they are supposed to as responsible pet owners.

Three months ago the white pitbull that lives at 27 Loveland Street gave my poodle 17 stitches. I called the police for two days before I got a response. The response was to call animal control. I insisted that I wanted to press charges as the dog was unleashed and in MY YARD when the attack occured and I also suffered bites/scratches. I am still waiting for them to take the report. This dog is still in my yard daily.
I had to pay all vet bills. The dog's owner calls me horrible names and sics his dog on me whenever I try to use my driveway. He thinks it's funny that his dog leaves his droppings all over my yard and there is nothing I can do about it. The situation on Loveland St is scary for small children and animals.

I used to live at 23 Loveland and I was biten by the white pit bull twice. Calls to police and animal control were completely ignored. The owner is almost as scary as the dog so I just pack my stuff and moved. That dog was going to kill me as I tried to get in my car every morning. You guys should just do the same thing because the last time I went to the police I showed them my torn cloths and stitches. They gave me the voicemail number for animal control.

ok ACO, show these people that you actually care and DO something!! Sounds like an animal and person problem. This is awful that you and the police continue to let this happen.

Keep calling the ACO number and insist she meets with you and addresses the issue. Don't give up, if you really want this problem under control, you're going to have to be prepared to fight for a long time!

About a two months and half ago the white pitbull came into my front yard to attack my 13 pound puppy. I was able to save him and only suffered bruises/gashes on my back. I screamed for help but the owner of this pitbull never pulled it off me; just stayed in their yard three houses over. I had to crawl with my puppy under me up my back stairs into my house the whole time this pitbull was trying to get to my puppy thru me. I will never understand how this owner could listen to my screams and not get that damn dog off me. This was arround 4:30 in the afternoon on a thursday, police took the report when the showed up finally at 10:45. Animal Control showed up the following tuesday but saw no "roaming" dog and nothing further has been done. Unless you count the threatening actions of the dogs owner - which is most likely why people in the neighborhood are afraid to keep calling for help. We do not get it when we do call only more retailiation from the owner no relief from the attacks.

I also have small dogs and I am concerned. My only answer- if its on your property, endangering you- next time your out run the damn thing over or shoot to kill. To those on Loveland, I am so sorry to all these attacks, please write to the Middletown Eye Blog- post your stories!!! People take notice- the Press gets not press

WTF is wrong with the MPD?? People are getting attacked by a vicious animal and they give you the number for animal control?? What if it was a person doing the attacking? Would they come then? What if one of the neighbors attacked the dog's owner? Would THAT be worthy of MPD's attention? How freakin' ridiculous. I hope somebody shoots that $@ dog.

Personally I would shoot the dog if it came on my property attacking my animals.

The PD is not helping-get together and get a lawyer, video tape, pictures, document, document, document-then shoot it on your property.

i live on loveland sreet and i see these dogs all the time luckly ive never had a problem with them but i want to let the owner know if one of these dogs ever tried to attack me i will kill the dog i would have no problem ending its life

I would go with documentation! It's the dog's owner who should get shot, but we all know how that would turn out....This has been posted for a while- does anyone know if ACO stepped in since this was posted or if the poster has contacted Ed to run a story in the Eye about the PD/ACO turning their head to this?

What makes anyone think anyone in authority reads this? Just call the proper agency.

First and foremost-the animal control office in Middletown consists of ONE person. If there is an issue, call Middletown first and if you don't get a reply call Cromwell as they serve for mutual aid for Middletown. If you call and report that there have been animals injuring other animals and acting hostile to people the officer from Cromwell will be out as soon as she possibly can be. You can also call and report the owners to the PD for neglect-that is a criminal offense.

Well it's been 6 months since the last post/comment, I wonder if and how this problem was taken care of? I also seen these dogs, 3 were pits and one was a mix pit terrier/bull dog. I hope it didn't cost the life of someone's pet or any other innocent people!! Owners who let their dogs loose and roam the neighborhoods should be fined and if the dog has a history of biting then it should be put down. There also should be someone available for help during regular business hours to investigate these reports when it happens, not days later. Then again that would be too easy and would cost the town/city some money, hey what's a life worth now a days?

This post is in direct response to Ms. Greenleaf's allegations that she and her poodle were attacked by a White Pitbull Terrier on Loveland Street. Please know that I am the owner of the White Bull Terrier Ms. Greenleaf is referring to. At no point in time has my dog attacked Ms. Greenleaf or anyone else with two or four legs. Had something like this ever occurred, the authorities would have quickly euthanized my dog. It is truly unfortunate that Ms. Greenleaf has presented herself as a compulsive liar and all around trouble maker. Her comments are not only an attack on all responsible pet owners but an attack on the Middletown Police Department as well. The Middletown Police Department has never acted irresponsibly where dangerous animals are concerned and neither have I. Please keep your allegations regarding all pet owners centered around the truth; not doing so is just shameful and slanderous.

Come on people ,if my dog Kayden had attacked anyone so viciously, he would have been put down.
And the reason the police or animal control haven't done anything is because Ms Greenleaf has proven herself to be a compulsive LIAR & TROUBLE MAKER!!!! Seek the truth before you start making threats that could get you hurt!!! Kayden is part of my family and i will not let anyone mess with my Family!!Ms Greenleaf is the one making the anonymous post. My neibor at 23 had a white and brown spotted pit that alwas played wiht Kayden,and when they moved the owner dropped off a bag full of goodies as a going away present for Kayden.YOU NEED TO STOP THE BULL!$$%&^^ lady.Get a life ms Greenleaf,I know your probably depressed about loosing your job for sexually harrasing women at Goodwin College,But thats a personal problem,deal with it!!!!
