I read the post someone had put up about Newport Marine. So I googled Mike Advena and the school board . I found it very ironic and coincidental that he was calling the school board dysfunctional. Dysfunctional is the perfect term the family business Newport Marine. I am going to take the suggestion of the poster to send open record requests to the city. Also known as Opra request to the city. I am going to request the inspection records for the past 10 years. As per city code there is supposed to be a annual electrical inspection, building inspection and inspection by the fire marshal. And if you read the code, Newport Marine is required to have one parking spot for every boat slip that they rent out. These parking spots do not exist in our violation of city code. And if you read into the code deeper you will also find that the marina is required to have a pump out station because they do rent to boats, or transit boats that have a bathroom facilities on board. I am a tax paying citizen in the neighborhood of the marina. And I am extremely tired and disgusted walking past there and seeing such eye sores. It does devaluate neighborhood property. In closing I to request everyone to send open records request to City Hall let's get to the bottom of this and end it.
