Birds are a part of our ecosystem and while I also noticed that they are much louder this year, frequently waking me in the very early morning (2 am-2:30 am) hours, we need to live in harmony with other species. Bird noise is not something we as humans can control.

Well, color me different, but part of the reason I moved to this neighborhood is because of how many birds it has. I used to live in a more industrial part of Boston and my nightly soundtrack was just trains and trucks. Living here and hearing these chirps and night and morning feels like paradise. I got a bird app (Merlin Bird ID) to help me figure out who is signing. Most of the time around me at night are Robins. I love it. I have a newborn as well, and birds don’t bother her either. Nature is awesome.

Virtue signalers: why shame someone who's needing sleep? They didn't say they hate birds, or nature - they're just expressing frustration over some night-chirpers that are keeping them awake.

I heard birds where I am, too, last night, after reading this. Maybe I just never noticed before, but that's why I looked up and learned about mockingbirds doing this for a few weeks this time of year (maybe twice per season) while they're looking for mates. They do it at night bc there's less ambient noise (traffic, etc) to interfere with their piteous cries for love (it's the lonely males). It was bothering me too, but I tried to frame it in the positive light others mentioned here, and that helped. Plus the stuff I found online also mentioned that white noise machines and soft earplugs as the best remedy. If nothing else, you can at least comfort yourself knowing that it won't go on forever - just a few weeks, with maybe one repeat session for the ones who didn't get so lucky.
