Where's our park? Spring is here and this dead-end Waldo Avenue location on the Newark Avenue side of the foot bridge needs to repainted, tables with benches returned and large planters replaced in the street to block off parking.

This is a so-called pop-up park so no official name appears on the list below.

    Hello

My name is Adrien and I live at 3 Vine St. in Jersey City. At the end of our block is a grass area that belongs to the city. Last summer I put a little raised bed garden in and this year I would like to do much more. Last week I cleared a couple hundred pounds of garbage that had accumulated over the years in the brush. I raked out everything and cleaned up a lot of debris. People love to come down our road to walk their dogs and be in this little pocket of nature. I am reaching out to perhaps get some assistance in making this a beautiful little park in our neighborhood.

I have a few requests. Is it possible to have these red signs removed? Our road is very narrow and short and these signs are extremely unnecessary and an eye sore. Would the city be able to supply a trash bin for the end of the road…preferably on the right side of the end of the road by the fire hydrant. Also, could we have a water hose tap put in. There is a water meter box and a Fire hydrant side by side so should be very easy. Would be a huge help to have the vegetables, herbs, butterfly garden and sunflowers.

I was also curious about any donations of soil, plants, flower pots, paving stones and any other garden materials that the city perhaps can provide? I am fine doing all the labor with the help of some others in the neighborhood who are also very excited to clean up this street. Just curious if there are any resources the city can provide.

Thank you so much for your time
    Adrien

Multiple downed utility lines on Van Winkle between Tonnelle and Liberty. This has been reported several times and the utility companies do nothing. This would never fly downtown.

We need Jersey City Quality of Life Division to investigate this site to make sure they are compliant to the practices similar to construction sites across the area. In a short period of time, we've had the entire Neighborhood turn into a construction site.

    1. Parking: Resident Parking does not exist any more, on Van Reipen and Bryan Place is all filled with Construction Worker vehicles, blocking Driveways making a hazard for emergency vehicles to enter and exit the area. I count maybe 7 vehicles taking illegally parked with no ZONE 2 stickers. The Construction company should provide adequate parking for it's workers outside of resident parking areas.

    2. Outside Time Construction. There are many times where this site does construction prior to 7am and later than 9pm. I know this illegal and it's also a reduction in quality of life for the surrounding areas.

    3. Danger to Residents. Van Reipen has turned into a loading and unloading zone that takes up almost ALL of sidewalk for children coming and going to school. There is no gated area, nor police presence to assist, only construction workers who are just trying to get things done.

    3. Garbage dumping. These construction workers dump garbage in an open lot and change clothes in the open area (where children are).

    4. Non Compliance on Sidewalk safety. Large Orange blockades make it almost impossible for people to be safe and secure.

    5. Non-Union representation. We see lines of people asking the foreman for open jobs every morning on the side walk .... this can have up to 5-10 men who are looking for work... similar to a HOME DEPOT parking lot.

I can go on and on on more issues, we need someone to review this site for compliance - especially the building and zoning board who approved this construction but they are giving oversite to make sure quality of life reduction does not take place.
