  • North Capital At T St Washington, DC - Bloomingdale
I walked two blocks to my bus stop (80 bus at North Capital and T St NW/NE) this morning. I had to walk through 2 feet of snow and walk in the street to get around 5 foot snow drifts (from the plows, presumably) just to get there. For the second time this winter, after a heavy snow I had to stand in the middle of the street to wait for the bus. There were 4 of us waiting in the street. An old man actually walked in front of the bus while it was pulling up - luckily the bus driver saw him - but there was no margin of error, and it was pure luck that no one got hurt. Why isn't it standard practice to plow the sidewalks and crosswalks of major streets (like North Capital, Rhode Island, etc.) after a snow storm? After I got off the bus at North Capital and H St, I had to walk literally 20 feet into the road to get around the snow drift the street the plows created. I feel so marginalized as a pedestrian and bus rider, and the grumblings I heard on the bus tell me I'm not alone.
  • 131-199 R St Nw Washington, DC 20001, USA - Bloomingdale
Pedestrians cross Florida Avenue NW at R with only use of a crosswalk. There is no light or stop sign for the Florida Ave traffic. I often feel unsafe crossing the street because traffic on Florida is so heavy and coming at a quick pace. I think additional traffic safety devices would help tremendously. There is a DPR park on that corner, so kids cross the street often. Additionally, people walk their dogs in the grassy park across the street.
  • 100-198 Florida Ave Nw Washington, DC 20001, USA - Bloomingdale
This heavily used intersection is dangerous. Cars drive fast and don't stop for the significant number of pedestrians crossing the crosswalk.

The neighbor removed the no parking sign and continues to park vehicle within 25 feet of the street intersection.

1934 1st St Ne Washington, DC 20001, USA - Bloomingdale
I've owned my property at 1936 First Street, NW for 12 years and this year is the worst I've ever seen for rats. The neighbor's yard at 1934 First Street seems to be the epicenter. I've had bait boxes out for months to no effect. Please help!
  • 135 U Street Northwest Washington, DC 20001, USA - Bloomingdale
The neighbor at 135 U Street has repeatedly removed the "no parking" sign and continues to park illegally every day for the last year. I don't understand why this has not been taken care of after multiple neighbor complaints!
  • 75 Rhode Island Avenue Nw Washington, District of Columbia - Bloomingdale

Peds are given 23 seconds to cross - which barely gets you to the cross in front of Rustik Tavern. When pushing your kid in a stroller, this can sometimes leave you stranded.

30 seconds would be juuuuust riiiiight.

  • R & N Capitol Washington, DC - Bloomingdale
It is just another normal day on my bike commute if I get stuck at R st (eastbound) at N Capitol because drivers going south on N Capitol are blocking the road. Today it happened, yesterday it happened. This would be a good place to consider a red light camera or some Don't Block the Box signs.
  • Rat Abatement Acknowledged
2022 North Capitol Street Northwest Washington, DC 20002, USA - Bloomingdale
Since we moved here we have had a persistent rat problem. We have seen them on the back porch of the property next store and usually catch them coming in on gas lines through our common wall. We believe the property--2022 north capitol street--is abandoned and are not sure who it belongs to.
  • 25 Florida Ave Nw Washington, DC 20001, USA - Bloomingdale

There is a crosswalk that is heavily used by pedestrians coming from both Q st and Florida ave, however, there is no yield sign in the middle of the intersection and cars rarely stop for crossing pedestrians.

I personally was almost hit several times by cars crossing North Capital going to towards the North West.

Please add Yield to Pedestrians in the middle of the road or add blinking lights.

    Anything would help.
