    42nd Street between Broadway and Martin Luther King is highly deteriorated with innumerable potholes several inches deep and several feet wide with loose gravel. This road has been this way for many years and is just getting worse. The pothole repairs are a temporary bandage that will no longer suffice. The entirety of this road badly needs to be repaved.

    The playground surface at Linden park, which is next to North Oakland Community Charter School, is so broken and damaged it is a SAFETY HAZARD for children. This needs to be fixed ASAP. The damage right now is:
    1. A tripping hazard
    2. A hazard for cuts and scrapes with the sharp edges created
    3. Small pieces of the material are lying around which kids can ingest and are toxic
    4. These areas collect water when it rains and do not have good drainage

    Both sides of 45th street are strewn with garbage and debris on both the sidewalk and the street. People appear to be living out of their cars. I have witnessed people openly defecating on the sidewalk on multiple occasions. It does not feel safe to walk down this street in its current state.

    There is a huge pile of trash across from gas station. Attracting more people to dump. Has begun to spread across sidewalk and is attracting rodents as well.

    It's become a hang out spot for drug dealers who also go back and forth from gas station.

    Giant hole in the southbound travel lane on West Street before 47th Street, and another in the bike lane, along with lots of loose gravel. Looks like this is associated with possibly unpermitted sewer lateral or other utility work outside of 4707 West Street. Please follow up with the homeowner and the company responsible for this work to ensure that it the street is kept safe for all road users.

    Per Oakland Code Section 12.04.030, the City Engineer should repair this sidewalk and put a lien on the property. The sidewalk in front of 960 45th St has been torn up for over a year by the tenant of the home. There is non-structural plywood laying full length across the sidewalk which is not merely unsightly but poses significant safety issues (trip hazards, structural integrity hazards, possibly trenching/excavation hazards). It does not appear that any work has ever been attempted to remedy the situation, but it actually is getting worse: recently, the extent of the damage appears to be increasing as there are now additional boards laying across the sidewalk posing even more hazards. There also appears to be a temporary, stolen road hazard sign with a handwritten warning about hazards, which is obviously insufficient per a simple job hazard analysis and obviously not temporary, as it has been there for over a year. This is a public sidewalk and it seems like no attention has been given to it from anyone in Public Works, from the City Engineer and certainly not from the tenant. The repair area is greater than 25 sq ft, which requires a City permit, yet I️ don't believe a permit has ever been pulled nor anyone has ever required it (and if so, it's highly doubtful the permit extended for over a year). Over the last 12 months: I have witnessed numerous people trip while walking through the unpermitted construction zone, saw a blind individual nearly kill himself and fallen myself when out for an early morning job. Perhaps the City Engineer will pay attention once an injured individual or the ADA (or both) bring a lawsuit against them.
