Alpharetta GA, USA - AlpharettaAt the entrance to the complex that includes 12387 Crabapple Road (Crabapple Montessori School), there is a right turn only lane from northbound Crabapple Road. At the same junction, many vehicles stop to turn left into the Kroger shopping center. As traffic is stopped to allow the left-turning vehicles to await safe crossing, vehicles traveling straight frequently use the right turn only lane to accelerate and pass the left-turning vehicle. This is a frequent and systemic problem. Parents of Crabapple Montessori notice multiple vehicles each day, and one parent was nearly hit on her bike by such a vehicle earlier this week. Please bring out traffic enforcement to cite violators and install delineators on the right turn only lane (like those at the entrance to North Farm off Houze Rd) to prevent the problem from continuing. The school has no school zone for speed and no protection from law breakers to keep families safe.
Crabapple Rd Alpharetta, GA - Alpharetta
On Crabapple Rd, heading north from the junction with Houze Rd (The Silos), the speed limit is marked 35 up to Green Rd.
Cars are violating this all the time endangering pedestrians and cyclists trying to drive/ walk along that road. The side walk is also not complete between Abbey Ct and Green Rd, making it impossible to walk safely along the road.
A bike lane would be a great addition as well as STRICT ENFORCEMENT OF THE SPEED LIMIT
Multiple families in Crabapple Crossroads, Braeburn and Crabapple community would use their bicycles to both shopping centers and school, if the road was not so dangerous!
Students from Milton Middle and High school run along that road and are also in danger of being run over by speeding cars or drivers on their phone not watching the road!
Please address this issue before serious accidents happen and people get injured!
I also want to add that there is technically no "legal" way to cross the road as a pedestrian at the Crabapple (Kroger) shopping centre on Crabapple Rd, as there is no crosswalk. When one wants to cross the road there, one is technically "jay walking" and since there are two professional office buildings and a school located there, there are people who would like to be able to cross that road to access the Crabapple Shopping centre.
A CROSSWALK there would be the bare minimum, to ensure safety and legality in crossing the road.
Roswell Street Alpharetta Ga - Alpharetta
The crosswalk at the Roswell Street/Old Roswell Street/Cotton Alley intersection is extremely unsafe for pedestrians. There should be:
1. Improved directions on existing signage (“State Law: Stop for Pedestrians Within Crosswalk”)
2. New signage IN THE MIDDLE OF the crosswalk (like the attached photo)
3. Visible police enforcement of the law and consequences for offenders.
I work in downtown Alpharetta, so I park in the Cotton Alley lot. Police officers are very aggressive about chalking cars in 2-3 hour spots, but I’ve never observed any of them watching out for pedestrians, especially those of us who obey the parking laws and have to cross Old Roswell Street to get to work.
For months, I’ve crossed Roswell Street twice a day to get to and from my office, and only two motorists have stopped when I’ve been at or in the crosswalk. Once, a woman turned on Roswell from Old Roswell and came within a few feet of hitting me. This morning, I was in the middle of the crosswalk and a fast-moving car topped the Old Roswell Street hill and SPED UP as he approached me. I had to run out of the crosswalk to avoid being hit.
I should add that like my coworkers, not only do I work in downtown Alpharetta, I spend lots of money here — we’re among the city’s best, most regular customers. Breakfasts at Mugs, lunches at Corner Deli, haircuts at Aria, gifts from Sis and Moons.
Resurgons Park Place Alpharetta, Georgia - AlpharettaThis traffic light (facing towards Northpoint - North bound) needs to be adjusted to allow more than two cars to pass through in the morning and afternoon. The apartment complex is causing for more cars to be held at this light and the yellow light comes on just as two cars pass underneath.
12130/12120 North Hickory Trace Alpharetta Ga 30004 - AlpharettaThe storm drain near 12130 N Hickory trace is clogged as well as the large drain further in the yard. Water will not drain properly and is washing away grass vegitation and pine straw leaving the yard unsightly. This has been reported many times to no avail
10900 Westside Parkway Alpharetta, GA 30009, Alpharetta, Georgia - AlpharettaPreviously reported http://seeclickfix.com/issues/1228417 remains an issue. Maybe the left turn needs to be a green arrow that becomes solid red. Drivers making the left turn into Sanctuary Park are not obeying the left turn signal and continue to make left turns on green as though they have the right of way. This is very dangerous.
10245-10257 Waters Road Alpharetta, Georgia - AlpharettaTraveling between Jones Bridge and Kimball Bridge is dangerous because of the lack of sidewalks. You must cross without crosswalks at least twice to go to parks, shopping or elementary schools. There are over 1000 homes off Waters Rd impacted by this lack of sidewalks. How can the community organize to complete these small sections of missing sidewalks and improve the safety of our community?
Main Street New Pedestrian Red Flashing Lights Alpharetta, GA - Alpharetta
The new lights by Smoke Jack are a great safety addition. However the sign message to drivers needs to be revised.
When the pedestrian activates the lights and the lights go red, all vehicls are to stop. That is clear. However, it is my understanding that once the lights turn to flashing red vehicls are free to continue travel as long as pedestrians are not present in the crosswalk. There are no sign instructions to drivers that they may proceed once the crosswalk is cleared.
New signs need to be errected to give guidance to drivers so that vehicls do not stack up while waiting for the flashing red lights to stop yet the crosswalk has long been cleared.
460 Kirkstall Trail Alpharetta, Georgia - AlpharettaThis house has the neighbors up in arms! The unregistered truck is just the tip of the iceberg. The owner has for several years now, refused to keep up the landscaping, and he has trash all over the property. There is an unused aquarium and unkempt pond on the property which are breeding grounds for thousands of mosquitoes. The garbage is always spilling over and just left there. The smell is overwhelming. Uncut grass, knee high weeds and just in general the dilapidated condition of the house brings down the value of homes in the culdesac and some of the conditions are dangerous, such as the mosquito issue, as well as the pile of rotting bamboo in the back which has rodents living in it. The HOA is aware of the situation, but putting a lien on the house doesn't make the situation better for those of us who have to look at it and deal with it now!!! HELP!!!
