Speeders are the rule in this undeveloped area of southeastern RR. Posted speed limit is 25mph but most are seen going 45mph++. This road is used by many as a shortcut to avoid the intersection of Unser & Southern. And the blame is an equal mix of residents along with construction contractors and others looking to dump their trash on the mesa.

Due to the instability of the unpaved roads, and several tight curves at 10th St and the other at 14th St, there have been numerous rollovers. Residents who live in this area often hike and bike or walk their dogs. We've seen too many close calls and anticipate the day one of these drivers ends up in someone's living room or worse, kills a person.

The map doesn't allow one to show a start and end point but the road starts out as 10 St SE exiting onto Southern Blvd eventually becoming Vargas Rd SE where it turns off onto 19th St, then 19th Ave to Unser.

On a positive note - the only time most do slow down is by mid-week before the road graders arrive on Fridays. By that time Vargas gets so rutted/washboard many of the former speeders slow down. But this isn't an answer and speed humps aren't possible because of the dirt roads. Perhaps an appearance from "officer friendly" or a few stop signs at the cross streets might mitigate this.

We've visually observed and heard frequent gun use on and around the dirt track ("west mesa" area bordering portions of northwestern ABQ and southeastern Rio Rancho).

This is very dangerous because it's heavily used by ATV'ers, dirt bikes and motocross riders as well as trail hikers with occupied housing nearby.

I'm a gun owner and have no issues with other like-minded responsible owners. But this is stupidity at its best and it needs to be controlled.

While observing and reporting a recent episode to the RR police dept the 'perp' saw me and began firing his handgun in my direction. Idiot! It didn't frighten me because the range was too great but there are other nearby homes where a stray bullet could easily do damage or kill someone!

Huge problem with home builders & contractors dumping their trash (drywall, lumber, paint cans, trussing, nails, etc) and a lot of trash, appliances, furniture, toys, etc from nearby homeowners who drive out to this area (all hours) and dispose of it from their vehicles.
