Regarding through-traffic from the Mosaic Apartments onto Kayron Dr. and then Sherrell Dr. where I live. This has been a constant issue since moving there last March. Kayron Dr. is supposed to be a dead end, yet people in the apartments that back up to it cut the chain, open the gate at the end and then drive through our neighborhood. They also speed. We as well as neighbors have had items stolen from our houses and vehicles. The police told us to report any suspicious activity. I issued a complaint several months ago to City of Sandy Springs and they indicated that they sent a letter to Mosaic Apartments telling them to ensure the gate remains locked. I was told to notify someone in code enforcement if we noticed the gate being open again and they would work on ticketing people. Last week, on Tuesday, my girlfriend noticed a group of individuals loitering in front of our house, blocking our driveway as she was pulling in. There was also an SUV with tinted windows pulling through Kayron that knew them and stopped and spoke with them. My girlfriend called the police and when they pulled down Kayron, the group of individuals apparently scattered and a foot pursuit occurred. I am contacting you to see what exactly needs to be done to enforce the locking of the gates. I have seen increased police activity driving through to check the area out, but ideally would like to resolve this issue by ensuring no through-traffic can occur. I have spoken with several neighbors and we thought that maybe a petition would help. Please contact me and let me know what can be done.
