Big thank you to the road crew clearing at Pinnacle / Westpointe. They plowed the windrow and cleared it same day! Now that's how it is supposed to be done.

On another note, on the front page of the Edmonton Sun (online) there is an article about the number of Edmontonians that were ticketed due to not removing their vehicles during a parking ban for snow removal..."By the end of the day on Sunday, bylaw officers issued 1,825 fines in two days, averaging 912 each day -- up significantly from the first parking ban last winter. More than 200 tows were also requested." Get after it and ticket the offenders in GP. Other cities are, what's the hold up? You still see plows having to go around vehicles and leave that snow/ice where it is. Ticket and tow... they'll figure it out on their own. Don't want the ticket, don't park like a moron!!

I would just like a clarification... The Snow Route signs that have a No Parking Symbol on them and the dates Nov 15-Apr 15... Does that mean that nobody should be parking on the roadsides between these dates every year? That's how I read them, I just don't understand what the citizens who choose to park there don't get. I also don't understand that if that's the case and people are not supposed to be parking there, why does the city not ticket the offenders? Its clear as day, its against the bylaws, its a huge safety hazard with a windrow in the middle of the road and vehicles parked on the side of the road as there is little room to get by... Ticket these people and supplement your snow removal budget with ticket revenue. There have already been a ton of accidents year after year, hit and runs, people scraping other peoples vehicles... Just waiting for someone to get killed before the city does something about it??? Why must the windrow sit there for weeks on end? Don't plow if you cant do the job right. Why do a half @#$% job and endanger peoples property and lives.

Utility Trailer parked along side my residence covered in snow has been there for a couple weeks now. I see it has tags on it but nobody seems to be laying claim to it. Perhaps it should be towed as it is now causing a safety issue with the road conditions and if anymore snow piles on it it will be very difficult to see.
