Illegal Dumping Archiviert6201 Banks Pl Ne Washington, DC 20019, USA - DeanwoodThe littering issue on this area has increasingly gotten worse over the summer months. It is not the inhabitants of this community; but their guests, and visitors of the Rec center that decide to make Banks Place NE and Marvin Gaye park their dumping ground. The city has done nothing to assist in combatting this issue. There is no consequence when persons litter in front of the various offices that "patrol" the area. How is it that there is no scheduled or POSTED street cleaning on this block? How is it that there are no POSTED fines and penalties for littering? Why does no one enforce the rules when the park is CLOSED and discourage loiterers? Why aren't more trash cans available? If the city doesn't care about this street enough to do their due diligence, how can we expect others to do any better? There is no reason household trash should be found in the street! This should be a safe environment for our children to play. Instead, it has become a disgusting display of assorted bottles, bags, and food waste. Several homeowners pick up trash by hand, but that's not enough! We need help! The city has to do more!

Debris and trash collect in the streets nightly following the basketball tournament held at the recreation center during the summer. Please assist and enforce littering laws. The neighborhood is beginning to look derelict, which is unfortunate considering there is a playground children consistently occupy.
