The whole area is still pretty bad. There's little point in having road crews fill the potholes if they're not going to do a good job. The crews fill the potholes about as well, and with as much work ethic, as my 14 year old son cleans his room; there are a few desultory piles of patch sloppily shoveled into a pothole here and there. Aynesley and Donahue from 17 mile north to Terra Bella are also bad. Donahue is especially a disaster. With the combination of weather, the tons of salt that gets dumped on it and the garbage concrete that is used to actually pave the road, I'd rather take my chances off-roading on some rock strewn mountain switchback in a Yugo. The condition of the roads around here is criminal.

Even though some of Garfield has filled some potholes it is still POT HOLE HEAVEN and getting worse by the day....How can we get some help?

I’ve lived in CLINTON TWP most of my life and have never been more embarrassed to have people visit me than now in 2018! The roads are completely gone no possible way to patch them, Garfield between 17 and m59 needs to be resurfaced its the main road in CLINTON TWP. Also Hayes between 18 and m59 needs to be resurfaced along with Donahue street from 17mi to Terra Bella that road is a joke!!! I see kids getting off the school bus trying not to fall into potholes or slip on all the loose gravel and large broken concrete. It’s just a matter of time before someone gets hurts, I hope someone in the township is listening please fix these roads before I’m left with no choice but to move for my own safety from these dangerous roads.

Donahue road is crazy totally destroyed!!!! Garfield between 17 and M59 is soooo pothole covered there is nothing that can be done but resurface it please fix these dangerous roads for the safety of our kids please !!!

I sent a message to the Macomb County Road Commission asking (sarcastically) if they were even planning on filling the holes with something, because anything would be better than the nothing that the city has provided. The response was some garbage about the sinkhole and there are no plans to repair Garfield in the near future. So buckle up! I refuse to drive on Garfield north of 17 mile anymore and if I had any stake in any of the businesses through that stretch, I'd be furious because I bet they are losing business because people don't want to risk hundreds of dollars of damage to their vehicles just to get fast food. If you live on Donahue, well then God help you, because I'm sure the city is gonna pull the same crap they tried with the folks that live on Cimmaron by trying to extort more money (I heard anywhere from $5,000-$10,000 PER HOME!) from residents in order to fix that disaster. The same garbage is currently happening to the people that live on Aynesley. We pay a pretty healthy amount in taxes and obviously next to none of it goes towards road maintenance. It also doesn't help that when a crew actually does get out there, you have guys that obviously don't give a crap about the job they're doing. I saw a crew a week or so ago and the guys "filling" the holes was literally throwing shovelfuls of patch three or four feet "into" the holes. If most of the people I know did their jobs like these people (that includes the folks in charge), then we'd be gone within a day or two. It's pathetic.

I really hope more people complain, I also don’t go down Garfield north of 17mi. I’m giving this township one more year if nothing is done unfortunately we are moving out of Clinton Township. The township leadership needs to really step up. I also feel bad for the businesses on Garfield they really need to complain to the township for the loss of business due to the terrible roads.

I agree the pothole repair crews do an absolutely terrible job!!! I regularly take my backpack blower and a garbage bag and clean the entrance to my subdivision so the rocks don’t ruin our cars it really is pathetic!! I’m giving CLINTON TWP. one more year if nothing is done we are moving what choice do I have ,the township leaders don’t seem to care about the residents and their property value. Before my home is worthless do to the road conditions I have no choice but to sell.

Wow every post I put on is rejected so all I have to say is if nothing is done soon we are moving from this township it’s to dangerous to drive here.
