people will keep parking on the path, and ruining it, until we get some trees re-planted, to block their access. Also, parking tickets and/or towing would really help!!

Some NO PARKING signs would help, too.

If these are the same people that throw rocks / want to fight when they are told about their bad behavior, would it be possible to put an "anonymous" sign on or near the vehicle that it has been reported?

Or attach a "NO PARKING" sign to the fence?

We started out dealing with this problem by trying to educate them that the path was not for parking. At this point I think we need to recognize that signs won't deter the worst offenders. They already know it's not allowed, but since there are no consequences, the bad parking continues.

I was just thinking that if there are not any no parking signs and they get cited, they could fight it.

I sent another email to the parking authorities with a link to this new thread, also asking how we can go about getting "no parking" signs.

We aren't asking for "The Moon"...how hard a decision is this?!

No parking signs are key factor and also figuring out who to report these on-going issues to on weekends. I think that because it is a park path they wouldn't have much grounds to fight a parking ticket but crazier things have happened in Oakland.

I am pleased to report that last night at around 9:00 there was a parking enforcement officer who ticketed one car for parking on the path...a dark colored SUV. So, thanks for ticketing, maybe the word will get out..
