Game the system? What system? My post from a couple months ago is obviously right below this one. I am also not comparing South Van Ness to Mission or any other street. The legal speed limit should be enforced on all streets. As far as elderly and children, in the building I live, an "elderly" man was hit by a speeding vehicle and a woman with two young "children" is scared for the safety of her kids when they are on S. Van Ness. I am just trying to slow down the vehicles so nobody gets hurt. I'm glad you have your opinion on the issue, but please don't diminish mine or accuse me of wrongdoing or some great conspiracy when i am just trying to get the law on the books enforced.

All I'm saying is that the people who commented on the previous thread seemed to think the 25mph speed limit is too slow, so to repost the same issue without their views expressed is akin to gaming the system(by which I mean this website).

Adding children and elderly to the mix sounded like scaremongering to me. With all the construction happening on S. Van Ness I don't see how anyone can speed at this point anyway.

However, the fact remains that people need to be able to get out of the city in reasonable time, which mean S. Van Ness ought not to be subject to the same speed restrictions as other streets in the area.

The traffic on South Vanness is far busier than any other st in the Mission. Anyone who says otherwise needs to sit at 20th/ South Van Ness Ave and count cars to Mission has far fewer cars which for the life of me I do not understand. SLOW South Van Ness Ave. You slowed the real thoroughfares lime Folsom,Harrison and Bryant and now have realized that traffic needs to move faster in my street....nice try. Either slow our street down or speed up the others as well. The planners have turned our street into a race track. I see my Folsom neighbors often fly down my street while demanding their street be slowed...hypocrisy.
