Stop sign needed @ 5th ave @ Charles Street to curb constant speeders (cars, motorcycles, dirt bikes, etc). They fly up and down our two blocks day and night, all year round with no regards for young or old. PLEASE PLEASE put in a stop sign since we don't have enough cops to stop the speeders. Thank you!

Thanbk you! As "Ninja250" correctly states: " the problem is that there are no many children running out in the street with no parental supervision....WATCH YOUR KIDS....OR AT LEAST TELL THEM TO LOOK BOTH WAYS BEFORE GOING IN THE STREET!"
To add to that, it should be noted that stray dogs are also an nissue in that area and you cannot fix all of your neighborhood's woes with a simple Stop Sign; which people would most likely ignore anyway.
To my memory, every time I've passed by your block, and many surrounding the one spoken of in this post, you have (1) kids playing in the street unsupervised (when there's a park right up the street at Hope Ave & Charles Street's), (2) stray cats & dogs running amuck, and (3) so-called "adults" who love nothing more than to blame all of the problems in their lives on everyone but the individual with which blame should lie; the parent/caregiver who is supposed to be paying attention to their tribe of offspring.
To add to this problem is the fact that the Coatesvile Area Police department, for the most part, is clueless with respect to the criminal justice system and simply hands out "Disorderly Conduct" citations as a catch-all charge because they either haven't the skills and/or ability to read through and understander the Pa. Consolidated Statutes, or they're too lazy to pick the book up.
----Either way people, remember this one very important lesson that the Coatesville police Dept. seems to have either forgotten, or never learned; a policeman has NO discetion with respect to issuing citations if one citizen wishes to file a complaint against another. The police department's only function when they are called is to take notes of the complaint, write the citation, and send the paperwork up the ladder to the nerest Issuing Authority (District Magistrate) which informs all parties involved of a date for a hearing.
It would be greatly appreciated if the Coatesville City Council, in all of their ineptitude, would inquire as the actual knowledge possessed by the individuals whom they choose to hire to "protect" the community-at-large. --I've noticed that we now have a young girl driving a Police car around town playing Policeman. What good is a 17, or somewhere in that age region, thin, meek, female going to be to any citizen if that citizen has need of actual help with respect to a physical confrontation? --A skinny young girl with a .9mm does not a Police Officer make.
