Not surprised. These apts were supposed to be torn down, then they were supposed to be turned into nice apts, now they are worse than when they were Dayton Square. New paint, new fence, same horrible neighbors. Thanks for this one HC, you should have known better, especially with absentee owners. Get stuff in writing next time. When the place was under construction, I saw neighbors walking dogs, children playing in the street. No latino gangs terrorizing the good citizens and causing fear for the kids at play. Now, cars pulling out in front of citizens, no regard to pedestrians, children or other drivers and they turn violent if you honk your horn for cutting you off, my kids cannot even take the school bus cause the kids from this place get violent and talk innapropriately and have priority on loading and sit 3 to a seat, are rowdy and obnoxious and dangerous from their environment. This atrocity allowed to infest right in Haltom City. These apts should have been used as a private luxury complex to attract the folks that work downtown with its easy access, and a food retailer built near the corner of Haltom and 121. Get those consultants working. No production, no pay....

We live in apartments that are partly in Haltom City and partly in Richland Hills and after finding this site, posting a complaint about the complex we live it at 6324 Baker Blvd, and reading other complaints, it sounds to me as if this is a problem at several apartments within HC's enforcment and public safety jurisdiction. So, wonder when real action to address these issues will take place? Our complex is nothing but a day-worker camp with at least 5-7 grown adult males living together in a small 684 sg. ft. 1 bdrm unit!

So AG, has there been any improvement?

Hey IB! I do not know about the apartments mentioned in this issue report, but the ones I live in, Rio Vista, have seen some improvements as far as work trucks, trailers and abandoned vehicles in the field and parking lot. But there are still multiple males living in the small 684 sq. ft., one bedroom apartment. The issue, as best we can tell, is being ignored. We have also noticed that there are multiple men living in several of the small apartment units in the back of the complex. And even though they might not be parking their vehicles in the field or resident parking, they are still living and staying in one apartment unit. We have observed the vehicles that use to park and party, now just drop off the multiple men or they park in the visitor parking and unload 2-5 men at a time. They continue to drink, get drunk and hang about getting louder and more belligerent. Sadly it sounds as though the city condones, perhaps even welcomes this type of behavior and poorly run properties.

Please be aware that Code Enforcement performed a sweep of the entire property (Rio Vista) to address parking and junk vehicles and will continue to address code related issues as needed. Public intoxication, disorderly conduct, noise issues and other such concerns should be reported to the Police Dept., the apartment management and property owner. The city does not condone such activity and expects all residents to have safe and peaceful surroundings.

All of the issues are reported to PD and apartment office staff and property owner/management and have continually been reported for well over 8-10 months. Anyone can do a internet search for maximum occupancy guidelines, when you do, you will find plenty of information about the State's guidelines as well as information stating that most cities will address maximum occupancy with city ordinances and that if your city does not, than the State guidelines apply. When a business, ESPECIALLY a multi-family residential complex, does not meet State, Federal, and City ordinances and codes, there are measures the city can take. It is the city that permits a business to even operate within city limits! Citizens, on the other hand, are limited as to what they can do. We are left with, "report it"! Well, when it has been reported too many times to count and no one with any authority is stepping up (everyone just keeps pointing the finger elsewhere...the apartment office say, "report it to city or PD"...City says, "report it to apartment or PD"...and PD will ask "have you reported it to apartment?" or tell you, "report it to apartment". Meanwhile no one does anything and those left to suffer just continue to get the run around. Sorry City of Haltom City, if you do not "condone" such activity, than do not PERMIT the property owner to operate within your city!
