There is no tree protection fence around those trees, so they were probably included to be removed in their site plan.

Has anyone actually seen a site plan for this property?

Presumably they have an approved site plan that the city reviewed and had a inspection of erosion control and tree protection fencing to obtain their land disturbing permit per Raleigh's standard construction sequence. If they had to remove street trees they will probably replace them. Who is the developer and what is the site address?

Typical Raleigh style! They place "Street Trees" at great expense that will never replace the beautiful old trees and are managed so poorly that they too will be taken . GET A CLUE CITY, MAKE SOME BETTER CHOICES! Have a sense of aesthetic and the environment, the bad decisions developers are allowed to get away with are destroying Raleigh and can't be fixed. Get smart and use the sense (God who made those trees) gave you.
