Outside of your jurisdiction?? If this is outside of your jurisdiction, what is it exactly that you people do? There are potholes on roads in YOUR town and you're telling me it's outside of your jurisdiction? Sounds like a huge cop out to me.

Eric: The Village of Lake Success is not allowed to do anything to a County road. While the road happens to be within Lake Success we have no jurisdiction over it. I'm sorry if you do not understand that but that is the law. If we were able to do something about it , it would have been fixed a long time ago. I have been working with Judi Bosworth, your Nassau County legislator on this and she has been very helpful to get the roadway repair on the Nassau County schedule for this spring. Call County Executive Mangano if you want to discuss this with the right public official.

Thank you Mayor Cooper for getting back to me so quickly. I appreciate you taking the time to review the issue. At least I know that you are looking out for the people who travel the roads. Can you answer one question for me? What signifies a county road over one that your village would control?

Eric: The jurisdiction over what is a County road and what is a Village road are dictated by the County map--in essence they built the road and therefore own it.
