Assuming the boats were the national geographic cruise ships that were recently at MIDD, our guess is that the noise was from MIDD’s emergency generators they must run to their pump house during the power outage warnings.

MIDD confirmed their ships do not run on generators, however, they recently installed an emergency generator (on November 2nd) in their ship yard. This generator is connected to their pump house and runs when there are power outage warnings as the pump house cannot stop working.

Thank you for your response. MIDD continues to run their generator despite there having been only one major power outage in November. Since Friday evening there has been another episode of 24/7 engine droning that appears to be from their generator and two tugs keeping a large barge in place. It is too loud and outside of COV noise ordinance. Who signed off on the generator?

Is MIDD being opportunistic in servicing larger vessels that require generator support, @ the expense of their neighbors? Quite a complaint log about this on Vallejo’s next door.com.
