Arterial streets with a PCI below 65 and collector and local streets (neighborhood streets) with a PCI of 50 or below are candidates for the paving plan. The City has limited funding in the pavement management program to maintain the over 3,450 lane miles and the program strives to address the roads with the greatest needs first, to ensure structural integrity and vehicular safety.
With that said, we are currently processing the documents needed to execute a new City-wide pavement condition survey to collect data for structural soundness and ride-ability of all City roads. During this process, the City will include the latest technology feasible to best capture pavement conditions.
In the meantime, if there are any defects such as potholes or sidewalks that need repair, please don’t hesitate to report these to us at 385-1470 or email to pwclrks@vbgov.com .
