Dear fixer-
I live on a laneway property in downtown Toronto - the lane is located between Manning and Euclid Avenue just south of Dundas. The lane is no longer useable because the main storm sewer has collapsed - here is a quick summary of events and a picture-
Below is an exchange with 311 - the attached picture will show you what's happened in our lane - 2 years ago the city cut the concrete while making changes to the water system and used ashphalt to patch the affexted areas. The ashphalt began to fail almost immediately. We notified the city then and as the pot hole got bigger we kept calling. 3 weeks ago they said they were sending someone to make it safe - this entailed spray painting orange around the pot hole - during last weeks storn the entire ashphalt patch failed and added to that the concrete is now cracking and folding into the storm sewer. - I roped the area off to make sure no more vehicles could drive over it - they would fall into the drain now - I called the city and sent them this photo - all they've done is place orange cones on either end of the lane -
