And also, could we send a cop on a regular basis to ticket people blocking the intersection? People might take notice if other drivers are pulled over.

Thank you for sharing this information, but currently there is no civil traffic offense in the State of Maine for blocking an intersection as part of vehicle movement. If the vehicle entered the intersection on red light, that would be the civil traffic offense, but if the vehicle is present because a separate vehicle stopped in front to make a turn for example, there is no offense. Issues of this nature need to be addressed by signal lights being timed appropriately. This information has been shared with the City of Portland Traffic Division.
