A 4 way stop at this location would help slow the motorcycles that love to use this stretch of road as their personal speed track. I live on this stretch of road and it shocks me how fast motorcycles fly by my house.

I agree. The nature of these roads (Locust and Denton) has changed dramatically over the past few years. Make it 30.

Apparently the recent postings on Click Fix has brought light to the right people. An engineering firm hired by the NYS Dep't. of Transportation has come to do a study and to view the dangerous traffic situations in the Locust Grove Road neighborhood. This past week the engineering firm staff have been counting cars, observing the reckless driving and studying the speed of the traffic at the intersection of Locust Grove Road and Denton Road, as well as the intersections of Route 9N at Locust Grove Road and Brook Road, plus the intersection of Locust Grove Road at Daniels Road. Two of these three intersections already have either a traffic light or a four way stop. The addition of a four way stop at Locust Grove Road and Denton Road, as well as the reduction of the speed limit throughout this entire residential zoned neighborhood is needed and is currently being considered. The neighborhood where Locust Grove Road and Denton Road meet is an intersection where The City of Saratoga Springs boundry meets the adjoining boundry of The Town of Greenfield. Both municipalities say that the responsibilty of reducing the speed limit is that of The New York State Highway Department, while neither of these roads are designated New York State Routes nor are they being maintained by The New York State Highway Department. The Saratoga County Sheriff Department and the City of Saratoga Springs Police Department are responsible for enforcing the speed limit. Meanwhile, neither municipality is taking the responsibility of reducing the speed limit and the drivers continue to travel at excessive speeds, creating an unsafe neighborhood for residents and pedestrians. The Town of Greenfield's only attention to the safety issue on Locust Grove Road was to take down a standing row of mature maple trees to allow for more visibility at the intersection and to install a sign for southbound traffic warning drivers of the curve. The drivers using these two roads as a throughfare continue to exceed the designated 40 and 45 mph speed limits and now with the removal of the trees many drivers don't even bother to stop at the stop sign before proceeding from Denton Road onto Locust Grove Road. It is a dangerous situation to ingress or egress our driveways with drivers either agressively riding on our tails as we make the turn in or travelling so fast it's unsafe to pull out. Forget about trying to back out of our driveways onto Locust Grove Road and not to mention walking to the mailbox to get the mail. The drivers don't even have the courtesy to slow down when they see a pedestrian. The speed limit on these two roads needs to be reduced to 30 mph and there needs to be an established shoulder for pedestrians to safely walk and bicycle.
