Never in my 27 yrs of living in NYC I have seen this. Steinway street up to 20th ave had no major problems (other than a pothole that developed at the intersection of stein and 20th).

And what does the city do? It prevents parking for 1 day, strips the road and makes a situation that need no fixing a whole lot worse. Now the road is bumpy throughout. The divider line is barely seen. And for what?

If it isn't broken, don't fix it.
