If its not a prank, its an extremely misguided attempt at being bike friendly. As I approached and read these signs last night, they clearly indicated that a bicyclist could blow off the red light and blow through the intersection (and potentially get slammed by a car coming into the interesection from the side street...one with very little visual clearance)

These were improperly installed by the contractor, were removed and will be re-installed when bike boxes are added to the intersections around Gateway Community College.
