worst part of my daily drive. This is a shame, (2) schools & a fire station in the immediate area. Think about what it is doing to those vehicles as well as your own
this road is pathetic.. costing many $$ in repairs for the school buses, traveling many times a day over the nasty road... Also effects the speed in which rescue vehicles can get to an emergency... Could be the difference between LIFE or DEATH!!
This is not a recent problem this has been like this for at least a couple of years. I myself even had a blowout because of it and the firestation help out and they even said it was a joke. it would be better off as a dirt road then what they have. and i would think it's a safety issue also. but who are we. we the people don't know what were talking about.
Last September, this intersection of Cass & Romeo Plank (right in front of the C.T. Fire Dept.) caused me to lose control of my motorcycle. I was only going about 25-30 m.p.h. when I tried to "straighten out" my handle bars and continue Southbound on Romeo Plank when my motorcycle was "pulled out" from underneath me. I'm a 58 year old rider that has been riding for over 40 years...I've never had an accident. Yet, when I wrote to the Macomb County Road Commission to lodge my complaint AND ask if anyone else has complained...I was told...nope, sorry you had an accident but, it's NOT our fault. Well, I beg to differ...it WAS your fault and I've been physically, emotionally, and financially hammered beyond my wildest expectations. Words cannot describe my disappointment as to how I've been treated. I've just gone thru bankruptcy and that motorcycle was my sole method of transportation.
I'm broke, humiliated, my motorcycle is still not fixed, and the Road Commission...has thrown me under the bus! Wm. Scott Brown, 20704 Gaberty Dr., Clinton Twp., MI 48038 Cell# 586.530.5566 Where's an attorney when I need one?
The Road Commission of Macomb County has this section of Romeo Plank between Canal and Cass on the schedule to be resurfaced this summer. We encourage residents to contact the Road Commission of Macomb County directly at 586-463-8671 or at geninfo@rcmcweb.org to let us know of any complaints or concerns regarding county road conditions, construction, maintenance, signs and signals. Thank you.
By far the worst road in Clinton Twp. They need to fix that fast. There is a school, fire station a very busy church and the library on that strech of road.
This stretch of road has been awful since I went to CVHS 20 years ago. I hope the "resurfacing" MCRC is referring to is more than another bumpy rolling patching effort and an actual resurfacing
Right of way purchases had to be made and took longer than expected and Clinton Township had to secure a loan for their portion of the cost of this project. This project was made possible because of federal funding covering a portionof the cost, which also means that state review of the design and MDOT bid out the job, which also adds more time. We are on schedule to begin the project in mid July.
Regarding damages caused by this road, the Road Commission is obligated to follow state laws pertaining to these claims. We do not make the laws but are required to adhere to them. You can contact your state legislators if you have concerns about governmental immunity or defective road laws.
