I am angry when people pass me on the left at this intersection. They go very fast because they know they don't have long to accomplish this illegal pass. A sign could be posted saying 'No passing on left' and then enforce it. One person doing this nearly drove my husband off the road when he was new in town and didn't yet know about the merging. I just get so angry that I would like to hog the middle of the two lanes to keep them from being able to pass me that way. My anger may be inappropriate, but so is their desire to pass the one or two cars they are getting ahead of this dangerous way.

The word you're looking for is "RIGHT". As in "No passing on RIGHT" or "I am angry when people pass me on the RIGHT". "LEFT", as in "No passing on left", as in your post, isn't the word you're looking for.

People are SUPPOSED to pass you on the left. Well, other than in Britain. And Bermuda. And Australia. And, ... well you get the point.

Just one thing though - it's NOT illegal to go straight when in the right lane there - it is NOT signed for right turn only.

there are arrows on the road and up above on the wires indicating a merge is needed in order to continue straight. However, like with most nobody bothers to think ahead and get into the proper lane before they find themselves in a sticky situation. All the new comers need to do is look up you'll see the signs at the light ahead of you that indicate lane ends ahead so that should tell you if you want to go ahead move the heck over.

We agree with Sherry Doubleday that cars race past us on the right hand side and that making the right hand lane into a right hand turn into Hannaford only. The existing sign should be replaced with a Right Turn Only sign, and the right hand lane past the light,in front of the bus stop, should be painted with crossed lines and a sign installed stating that this is for Bus Parking Only.
