speeding cars! some time ago the city did traffic survey on our street upon my request to improve public safety.i have seen no action taken, had no response as to the results.6 weeks ago our neighbors cat was hit by a speeding car and left in the street with broken leg and internal injuries.a speeding car side swiped a car ripping the mirror off.my neighbors with infant children dont feel safe with child in stroller just walking around the block=a quiet neighborhood in constant fear of being hit by a car while walking a dog, older people fear they will have to give up taking exercise.quality of life has been degraded due to your lack of any action.

Thanks for reporting!
I followed up with our Traffic Engineer and was given the following information from the traffic study:
"I had a count taken and the 85% speed is 25 mph, which is consistent with the existing speed limit of 25 mph. Per California Vehicle Code Section 22358.3, a speed limit of 15 or 20 mph can only be established on roadways that are 25 feet or less in width.
Mountain View is 27-30 feet wide, so does not qualify for a lower speed limit."
If you have any questions, please call the Traffic Engineer at 707-648-4300.

M .egger - I have spoken with the Traffic Engineer. He is putting a request to the Traffic Maintenance section to have speed limit signs and legends (where the speed limit painted in the ground) installed on Mountain View. This will take a few weeks to occur as it has to be scheduled by the Traffic section, but you can follow up with them regarding scheduling by calling their supervisor at 707-648-4518 any time after September 19th.
ELK - the sign in your picture was paid for by the neighbors in the Daniels area, and is not a regulation sign that the City posts.
