Please allow me to explain the complaint process so you have a better idea of what happens when a complaint is received by this office. The complaint was entered on 08/09/2016. Approximately 12-24 hours after a complaint is entered , a work order is created and printed for a code enforcement inspector to investigate.
In this case, the inspector was at the property the day the complaint was entered. A summary abatement order was issued the following day. Legally we have to give the property owner/responsible party time to remove the nuisance. In this case, the property owner/ responsible party has until 08/17/2016 to comply with the abatement order.
If the nuisance has not been corrected by 08/17/2016, the inspector will issue orders for another City department to take care of the issue, wherein the property owner will be charged a fee. Please understand the process does take time.
