These are not city bike racks. They were put up by Bike Recycle for Viva espresso.

They appear to be on a city sidewalk. Either way, they are abandoned. If abandoned property is left on a green belt, citizens can reach out to Code Enforcement to help encourage removal by the property owner.

Totally agree, wasn't meant to discredit your complaint. Its been a on going issue for years. This is not the first time you have complained out this. I'm trying to permanently resolve the issue. I was trying to point out that they were just put up with out going through the city process. Just like the exterior seating in front of Barrio. If they had gone through the zoning process there probably would have been required to put up better bike racks that could fit more bikes in the same amount of space. And yes the property owner should be responsible, its tenants from the apartments in that building that are leaving those junk bikes.

At the request of the police department I have created a service request category for "abandoned bicycle" to be used for these requests. They will be directed automatically to the Community Service Officer group at the Police Department when new issues are reported.
