Perhaps taz, but then the driver would need to find a safe place to pull over and risk walking into the median on a routine basis. Depending on how able-bodied the person is, this could be a nimble feat or an exercise in dodging cars.

It would be no different for the driver of a garbage truck, dangerous and requiring a place to safely stop. I see no difference in this for either. It was a suggestion to take care of the problem rather than simply reporting it for someone else to deal with.

Taz, I've picked up so many bags over the past 18 months or so I feel like I should be on the city payroll. I can't pick them all up. The city suggested I call and report them so that's what I do now. I've requested "NO LITTERING" signs to be posted, citing appropriate fines for the offense. I'd really love to discourage this trashy habit somehow. Not sure if signs & fines would do it but they couldn't hurt. I pick up trash on the sidewalk constantly. I'm really not lazy, Taz, just fed up.

The city with their budget constraints will probably not have the manpower or ability to take care of this issue. They are going on a 4 day week for refuse pickup starting in July, the cities budgets for most services have been cut. So it would be nice to see the city resolve this, but as it is residents throwing their trash out the window, I doubt that the city will be able to resolve the issue of poor upbringing and bad habits.

It would surprise me to see new signage, we have been requesting some traffic related signage in Bellevue for years and have yet to get it.
