Where do we find out in advance of these closures, the reasons for them and how long it is anticipated to last?
Emergency road situations and snow emergencies are posted on our website (www.kingston-ny.gov). The City also has a twitter account (#KingstonNY).
The City of Kingston posts this info under a big red heading on the city's home page. Here is a link to that info:
Just click on the part that says, "Cancellations/Road Work and Closings/Weather Related Emergencies"
Like I said, click on that big, red, underlined heading, and there you are. Here's what it says about this: WASHINGTON AVENUE from LINDERMAN AVE to GREENKILL AVE will be closed to ALL TRAFFIC until further notice. Please be alerted to traffic pattern changes. USE ALTERNATE ROUTES. Local traffic and traffic for businesses ONLY on Washington Ave will be allowed from the Greenkill Ave side.
