+1 this is frustrating especially considering the stepped up enforcement of parking tickets for everyone else.

Total double standard.

I don't know if a=b, for city workers who have to go to city hall at 165 Church or 200 Orange Street, there is no parking provided. Most employers provide some sort of parking. As a taxpayer I would rather a city employee (with a legitimate purpose) park in this zone than at a meter that provides revenue.

@guest, I agree. What irks me is that it seems that there is a double standard that sets the wrong example.

@Kam, perhaps a sign for 'city vehicles only' would help for those workers who have to attend to business, not personal business at the credit union, but for important meetings and office visits to 200 Orange and 165 Church. Police, Fire, BOE, Parks & DPW all exist off site and have to go regularly to city hall buildings to take care of business. Maybe a 15 minute sign for those that are dropping off at treasury, mail, etc and a sticker for longer meetings to the lot on State where the city fleet is parked?

@guest, I think those ideas could work. Being clear that there aren't two sets of rules would be my goal.

i suspect the mayor is out to lunch at caffe bravo right now, illegally parked outside.

The same problem occurs every morning on York and Cedar (in front of the hospital entrance) where a police cruiser is parked- no lights, no cop in sight. The problem with that spot (aside from the NO STANDING sign) is that because there is a bus stop (where they sometimes sit for a while) on the right-hand side of the street, 3-lanes are narrowed down to one causing unnecessary congestion. BTW Juli- great job compiling all this photographic evidence!
