When's trash pickup? Nothing on the city website except the Christmas and New Year schedule (sorry that's old news). Heard a rumor that we just won't get service from last week due to snow, but can't confirm. Are we just supposed to wait another two weeks for recycling or what? Many people have overflowing bins and I know none of the drivers are going to pick up bags from the street if we leave them out.
Some kind of a notice to people would be the right thing to do here. Like maybe update the website the hasn't been updated since December 1?

Good question. I found your post after googling for an answer. No useful information on the city website.
So, the news earlier said that trash and recycling will be on our 'normal day.' Does that mean we've missed recycling then? Our normal day is Friday. My bin was overflowing on Wednesday. Our neighborhood was mostly clear on Wednesday evening, so not sure why nothing was picked up Friday.
What am I supposed to do with all of my recycling for the next two weeks? Trash it? Leave it on the corner in a box? What about everyone else with overflowing recycling bins?
Seems like if we aren't getting a trash or recycling pickup for last week that we all need a credit on our monthly bills. Yeah it wouldn't be much. But would at least be the right thing to do. Either that or come get this stuff NOW instead of making us wait another two weeks.

They are hoping to resume today but with the weather we are unsure at this time. It was suspended last week due to weather and the safety of our employees. Thanks for your patience.

You may want to update the solid waste services home page since it has nothing about it and talks about the past holidays. For those of us that have the page for the department bookmarked and don't go through the Raleigh city home page, it doesn't help to talk about the Christmas schedule.

Due to weather conditions solid waste collections were suspended last week. Delays were compounded by the additional winter weather this week. The current status of collections may be found at this link http://www.raleighnc.gov/home/content/PubAffairs/Articles/WinterWeatherFebruary24.html
the City is endeavoring to service all routes by the end of Sunday.
We would hope citizens would understand the need for the safety of our workers and the public. Our vehicles weigh over 40,000 lbs. and have just as much trouble driving on ice as everyone else. We have found most of our citizens to be understanding of how the recent winter weather has negatively impacted our collection schedules.
