When the ramp from 24W exits on to 440W it needs to be a smooth transition. It jars my car terrible when the ramp ends and the road begins.

Good compaction of the soil and rock materials during construction at the ends of bridges and where concrete meets asphalt is difficult to achieve. Over time, because the materials cannot be compacted enough, they begin to settle. This settlement causes this "jump" that you are referring to. TDOT is currenlty working to address these types of issues on I-440:
DAVIDSON COUNTY, Repair of 14 Bridges over I-440
• Thursday December 15 and Friday December 16, 9AM-3PM, There will be shoulder closures on I-440 eastbound at Richardson Rd., Hillsboro Rd., Belmont Blvd., Winford Rd., and Lyle Rd. for bridge work.
• Saturday December 17 and Sunday December 18, 7AM-6PM, There will be lane shifts on Richardson Rd. bridge in order to perform ramp repairs.
