I realize it is a private property issue but it is also a matter of a tree on private property hanging over a public right of way (our street). At times it has impeded the movement of the garbage truck and other large vehicles going down the street. The homes on Evanston Place do not maintain their trees and hedges in their back yards that hang over onto our street. I have also registered this issue with Seattle City Light. When the large bow which hangs over Evanston breaks (it will and it has the tree is not healthy) it will probably damage the lines in which it's branches are entangled. Because the 165th block of Evanston is a small dead end street with only four houses on one side of the street, it isvirtually ignored by public works. All of the streets around us have access to natural gas lines. We do not. Trees get trimmed on other streets and are rarely touched on ours. I have never seen a street sweeper on our street. Please send someone out to at least familiarize yourselves with this situation.

Customer REsponse Team reviewed the area and did not find significant problems with trees. They did not ask the property owner to remove the branches. The trees growing into the power lines is a Seatthe City Light issue. You may contact Seattle City Light at 206-386-1733 to make a request for removal of brances and trees limbs in power lines. A request has been made to the Street Maintenance Department to sweep the street. If there are vehicles parked in the right-of-way we won't beable to clean the street completely.

I have a hard time believing that you actually sent someone to drive down our street. Two of the homes on Evanston Place whose yards back up onto our street have shrubs and trees that are hanging at least five or six feet (and in some cases more) into Evanston Ave. If you reviewed the area by looking on Google maps, you are not able to gauge the extent of the encroachment. City light has taken care of the issue with the lines.
